Over the last few weeks, a lot has been said and a lot has been written with respect to a potential fight between WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) and WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs). As the finishing touches were being made to Golovkin's October 17th unification with IBF champion David Lemieux - Ward's promoter, Roc Nation Sports Chief Operating Officer David Itskowitch, emailed an official offer to Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.

    October 9 2015

"The offer was very, very clear.....They would fight eacother some time in the first half of 2016....So obviously the Lemiuex fight would continue to go forward and the Ward fight would be in 2016."

K2, Abel Sanchez are making it out to be as if Roc Nation sent the offer for Golovkin to leave the Lemiuex title fight and instead fight Ward in 2015. Which was from the case, and is a very dishonest thing to do. Abel Sanchez is not lying when he says the offer was made when the Lemiuex fight was signed. What they are being dishonest about is disclosing that the offer would not interfere with the Lemiuex fight, and the Lemiuex fight irrelevant to the offer, and the offer was for 2016. That's very dishonest.
    No.

Golovkin agreed to step aside for Cotto/Canelo only under stipulation that the winner has to fight him. WBC confirmed this.
Cotto/Canelo was scheduled for November. There's no way he would accept another fight if it has any chance to conflict with Cotto/Canelo. They're bigger names and would have a MW belt.

They didn't say "maybe 2017" because of Lemieux, they said maybe 2017 because of Cotto/Canelo. Of course, GGG/K2 were under impression that those 2 had more balls than they have shown since then.

agreed. But nobody is claiming those fights would somehow make GGG a "superstar"

Mexican fanbase will follow Ramirez regardless.

What's funnier is the comments I got about you at the weekend, random guy on chat box on Twitch because we were discussing a thread and then he seen your name and he started talking about you and your posting style

His fans claim he's a superstar.

Didn't you predict he'd get over 300k PPV buys for Lemieux?

Cotto - Canelo wasn't even held there, not because they couldn't sell it out, because of the renovations.

I doubt GGG would sell it as well, especially considering that during his last PPV they were selling tickets for $10 during the week.

              Ramirez doesn't have a fanbase.

              What the hell is "Twitch"?

Some kind of chatroom for spastics?

Exactly. People are ******ed thinking Golovkin should sign to fight Ward in July of 2015 for a fight a year away after agreeing to step aside for Cotto-Canelo on the premise that they have winner. Why on earth would they want to put that aside? Even if you believe the winner isn't going to fight and will get stripped, it's at the very least worth waiting to see what happens before doing anything else.

Golovkin has been fighting his way to the top to get his shot, Ward comes out of a mini retirement from boxing, fights Paul Smith and expects to have a Golovkin fight next year by asking to fight in July of 2015? Dafuq? All the while he's moving up to 175. Makes little sense.

Why couldn't Golovkin come to an agreement with Ward the same way Kovalev has?
