Cotto got to really work hard on his defense and KO Canelo early if he stands any chance of winning this fight because the longer the fight goes the greater the chances of him absorbing punishment and it is going to really start to take its toll on him. His body has endured so many years of trauma and wear and tear that it is easier for it to break down. While on the other hand Canelo is fresh and hasn't so much as taken a quarter inch of the punishment Cotto has in his career. Therefore, he can afford to trade and exchange toe to toe punches without wearing down where as Cotto cannot.

this fight is close because cotto is past his prime. give me a 2008 cotto to beat the very best version of canelo most times. i believe that canelo will win because of his youth and marginally better power ... if he doesn't win though ...

Corley also woble and hurt Floyd Mayweather Jr and that translated in to canelo beating mayweather lol. Any real boxing fan know Canelo is limited and is at a skill disadvantage and the hope of is Cotto cant take the power because of his wear and tear. Canelo takes a better punch. Cotto has been rocked on numerous occasions.

Actually he has a much better defense, and rather than coming in with a "set game-plan," Canelo can "read and react," and adapt and adjust on the fly.

He has a much higher understanding, and ring IQ.

While he may not stand out in any other aspect, aside from defense/head movement/upper body movement, he is younger, and much stronger than Cotto.

I expect him to stop Cotto around the 8th.
