If any of those three were recognized as p4p #1 they could use it as leverage in negotiations. Being able to say you are recognized as p4p #1 is huge for a fighter. Floyd used that and his 0 to build this mystique about him that generated millions. Roman IS a safe option. He will never be a financial marvel.. he won't shift the power balance in boxing. The truth is not enough people care about the lowest weights, myself included.

It's just temporary, I'm not even worried about it. This stuff happens every now and then. Remember they put Calzaghe all the way to #2, some places even #1, for a couple of months after Floyd retired. Sometimes when that happens and there is suddenly no longer a clear #1 whacky things may happen with these fantasy rankings. Everyone would put Ward #1 but he took off too much time and hasn't beat anyone good in years, so down the list they go. Pacquiao would be the logical pick, but he's clearly not as good anymore and he didn't look good against Floyd, so down the list they to further.
