    #1

Reasons why Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez is #1 P4P.

Chocolatito has fought in 3 divisions so far: Strawweight, Light Flyweight and Flyweight.

He has been a champion in all 3 divisions.

He is the current Ring/Lineal Champion at Flyweight.

He was ranked #1 fighter by Ring mag and others in all 3 divisions he was in.

He is currently undefeated at 43-0, which gives him the aura of being unbeatable.

He has 37 KO's in those 43 wins, which means few were competitive with him.

He has several wins over quality opponents:

Yutaka Nida, who was #1 Strawweight at the time.
Katsunari Takayama, a Top 10 Strawweight at the time.
Juan Francisco Estrada, current #1 ranked Flyweight.
Edgar Sosa, current Top 10 Flyweight.
Rocky Fuentes, a Top 10 Flyweight at the time.
Omar Salado, former Top 10 Light Flyweight.

And he's about to fight Brian Viloria, so you can't say he only fought bums.

Most importantly, he passes the eye test. He looks good. He fights good.

Can you argue that Klitschko has accomplished more and has a better resume?

But if you're still unhappy about Roman Gonzalez being rated #1 P4P, don't worry.

Brian "Hawaiian Punch" Viloria will take care of that in a few weeks.

      Chocolatito's #1 P4P reign will be a short one.

Wlad didn't accomplish more and alot of people don't put heavyweights in P4P my self included

Thing is Roman wasn't really challenged and other than Estrada that's not really an impressive list

P4P is not just about resume.

If that's the case Pacquiao or Hopkins will still be #1.

P4P is a mix of resume, skills, hypothetical evaluation and most importantly how good you look lately.

Roman his last fight looked good.

Some people, if not most, don't seem to understand the concept of POUND FOR POUND.

            I'll try to explain.

P4P is who is the best right now, who wins head to head, if everyone was the same size.

It's not who is GREATEST or has BEST RESUME.

            Example:

If Roman was 6 foot 7 245 lbs. and you translated his power, speed at Flyweight over to Heavyweight, would he beat current Wlad?

If Wlad was 5 foot 4 112 lbs. and you translated his power, speed at Heavyweight to a Flyweight, would he beat Roman at 112?

              how does Chocolatito look?

              did he look good?

              that's all P4P is.

resume/opponents play a factor but not the only factor.

if a ferrari goes 200mph beating a honda civic in a race, would you argue the ferrari was slow because it was racing a slow car?

no the ferrari is fast no matter what it's racing.

I was against him being #1 initially but I'm warming up to the idea as many posters here have made a great case for him, especially since there's really nobody else, besides maybe Wlad, you can truly argue for.

Strength of competition plays a major factor IMO otherwise you would see many prospects on the list and will see a lot of turnover in P4P

Not arguing against him being #1 he is #3 on my list but personally I could never put a fighter without a career defining win as #1 P4P that spot is earned not given by default

                    wlad is old now.

prime wlad? sure. put him #1 p4p.

but compare wlad that just fought bryant jennings to roman who just blew out edgar sosa.
