There's no money in this fight for Golovkin. It's a royal waste of time and money. Ward can't even draw flies. I see no point for it if I were in GGG's team. It's even ridiculous to even let Ward dictate the terms of the fight. Ward should be begging for it.

Smart on Ward's end. They know GGG isn't fighting Ward right away, so send the offer knowing they're gonna turn it down and make GGG look like the ducker. I said from jump this is what Ward needed to do to get himself out there.
The unfortunate thing though at the end of the day as far as his and GGG's immediate future is concerned, GGG is HEADLINING his own PPV fight while they're "considering" Ward as an under card fight for Cotto vs Canelo.Comment

I swifted back through the video and at one point he says that he turned down the fight "idk about a month ago" and later says "6-7 months ago before we knew that he had a pay per view coming up".

Should have, could have, would have. You're speculating and trying to pass it off as fact. All we know is that Ward last fought 12lbs above GGG. If he gets back down to 168lbs then the discussion will be relevant.
Either way, it makes little sense for GGG to fight Ward right now. Canelo, Cotto and Lee are possible money fights. In an ideal world, GGG clears out 160lbs, as Ward did with 168lbs a few years ago, then moves up. If in the meanwhile Ward unifies 168lbs, then the fight would be even bigger and make it more likely to happen.
Ward doesn't need to clean out 168, he's ALREADY done that....everyone with a ounce of common boxing knowledge knows he's THE MAN at 168....Little g could become the lineal champ at 168 by defeating Ward....by defeating Ward, he would accomplish something that no other fighter has accomplished since Ward was a 12 yr old puppy...Little g could become Big G by beating Ward....Nelo and Cotto will have him starving for a fight....155-156 is the offer he'll get....with Ward he can eat good and possibly get a much bigger scalp....Nelo or my man Cotto don't equal up to a win over Ward....we all know that!!Comment

But they keep talking about Ward whilst having no intentions of actually making the fight. Whereas Ward's team took an official step towards getting it done.Comment

Agree for the most part even though I think Degale has a decent shot at Ward, and as crazy as it sounds, I think Korobov could give GGG work. But yes, it seems like they are the two kingpins atm. Anyways, if he could get that fight between the Lemieux and Cotto/Canelo fight, great. That does'nt seem likely as GGG's team are'nt going to give Ward a 50/50 split unless the fight is at 164. As dumb as that is, the catch weight that is, its just the way things are atm. Sadly for Ward though, the split is'nt going to get any better if GGG goes on the run it looks like he is going to. If Ward really wants that fight he is going to have to be on the short side of a 60/40 split.Comment
