I think we all knew dam well GGG was going to turn down the fight right now. Not just because he probably doesn't even really want that fight, but also because he wants Cotto/Canelo winner and has been assured that fight by Sulaiman. Unless Ward was talking about a fight mid to late 2016 though it doesn't sound like it because he is suggesting that it was going to be a next move for him.
So ultimately I don't buy this act from Ward either - if you make an offer to a fighter who already has made it clear what their next move is and expect anything other than getting your offer turned down than you are trippin. Not to say that GGG or his team aren't afraid of that fight, beccause they probably are.
EDIT: I'm only 3 minutes into the video right now, so maybe he clarifies something I haven't heard yet.Comment

Not even a Ward fan but looks like he'll be fighting on the Canelo-Cotto card which will be good exposure for him.Comment

Either way, it makes little sense for GGG to fight Ward right now. Canelo, Cotto and Lee are possible money fights. In an ideal world, GGG clears out 160lbs, as Ward did with 168lbs a few years ago, then moves up. If in the meanwhile Ward unifies 168lbs, then the fight would be even bigger and make it more likely to happen.Comment

Should have, could have, would have. You're speculating and trying to pass it off as fact. All we know is that Ward last fought 12lbs above GGG. If he gets back down to 168lbs then the discussion will be relevant.

Ward had been off for a long time so they made the fight at 172 just to ease him back down. It wasn't a championship fight so there was no need to push himself to make 168.
And once again, if we accept this idea that Ward is struggling to make 168....how much of a puussy does that make GGG look for suggesting 164?Comment

If GGG beats Lemieux and Cotto or Canelo, I wanna see him at 168 against Ward, no question about it. Ward knows that GGG has some options and he is wasting his time waiting for him. Stevenson and Kovalev are really big fights but I think Ward is scared...Last edited by From Russia; 09-15-2015, 01:50 PM.Comment

What does fighting the best have to do with ticket sales, ppv numbers, etc?
Take your pick. Legacy or money.
It's funny before when ya was mostly all ****tin on Cotto for saying that GGG doesn't sell tickets etc...
to turn around and use that same like about Ward.
But Cotto is a "coward" & GGG isn't
bunch of hypocrites.
I am not "ya all", but it seems like you can only differentiate between black and white, between A and B and there's (sadly) nothing in between for you, so its probably a waste of time to even respond to you. My bad.Comment

In the video, Ward says he made the offer to GGG about a month ago. That was give or take August 12. EDIT: I assume this video was post Mayweather/Berto
