That's the difference between the Ward-GGG and Ward-Kovalev situations.
There have clearly been positive discussions about Ward-Kovalev. Both sides are open to making the fight happen. Both fighters want it and there will be no problems making it when the time is right.
Ward-GGG is a little different. One side (GGG's) clearly don't want the fight. They keep making contradictory statements and embarrassing themselves in public. They are turning down official offers and making ridiculous counter demands.Comment

Make fun of Ward's glasses. That's just as good as GGG actually beating him.Comment

Lol that "Little G" **** is funny as ****!! Ward though is Irrelevant if Golovkin doesn't step in the ring with him. He's waiting on that guy on all fours instead of just moving up 175. Fight Pascal, then get it with Kovalev. At 168, nothing really left for Ward.Comment

Sometimes it seems he is taking his nickname literal and thinks he is Jesus.
Even most GGG fans would want to see GGG in a tough fight with a skilled fighter, but Ward has to be active again and get some exposure and make some fans, but all he does is talk and talk and talk. When does he actually fight a decent fighter at 168 and prove he is a draw?
Right now no one cares about Ward, no one watches him while GGG is headlining his first PPV and will then hopefully fight the Canelo/Cotto winner, maybe Andy Lee and unify all the Middleweight titles. That is what every fighter dreams about and what most of his fans want to witness.
If Ward gets his stuff together and does more fighting than talking then we might see a fight between those two late next year.
Take your pick. Legacy or money.
It's funny before when ya was mostly all ****tin on Cotto for saying that GGG doesn't sell tickets etc...
to turn around and use that same like about Ward.
But Cotto is a "coward" & GGG isn't
bunch of hypocrites.Comment

bruh he was like 170sh like a MONTH before the fight. He can EASILY make 168 lbs.
and again Duva has stated herself that they're in talks with RNS.
So why keep deflecting to Kovalev?Comment

I think we all knew dam well GGG was going to turn down the fight right now. Not just because he probably doesn't even really want that fight, but also because he wants Cotto/Canelo winner and has been assured that fight by Sulaiman. Unless Ward was talking about a fight mid to late 2016 though it doesn't sound like it because he is suggesting that it was going to be a next move for him.
So ultimately I don't buy this act from Ward either - if you make an offer to a fighter who already has made it clear what their next move is and expect anything other than getting your offer turned down than you are trippin. Not to say that GGG or his team aren't afraid of that fight, because they probably are.
EDIT: I'm only 3 minutes into the video right now, so maybe he clarifies something I haven't heard yet.Last edited by BrometheusBob.; 09-15-2015, 01:46 PM.Comment

Taking your own hypothesis for granted and then building a discussion upon it sounds like err typical hater talk.
Who is your boy Ward fighting next btw? DeGale sounds like a good matchup doesnt it?Comment

this fight will sell better anyway after GGG gets more exposure in his next fight. i dont think GGG and Ward are such household names that the general public is demanding to see the fight. If he can get past David and then the winner of Cotto-Canelo, then that perfectly sets up a mega fight.
ward is a great boxer, not as great a business man.Comment
