Whether I ignore a case for cotto or not is irrelevant.

All you or any cotto fan have to do is list all of cotto accomplishments.

This is a forum for debate not American idol. Anyone can make their points.

Don't care if cotto is in hof. He will get in. Hof doesn't mean you're great though. Isn't gatti in?
But Gatti is a great fighter though.. Gatti had 4 "fights of the year" under his belt and should have been 5 with the the comeback KO win over Rodriguez, thats 5 "fights of the year" in an 8 year span, while fighters like Pacquiao/Mayweather have 0. He also was involved in a "fight of the decade" with Micky. Wins and losses and who've you beaten are not a true indicator of greatness but rather its just a record to show who is best. Gatti for sure wasn't the best or maybe even close to being the best but for damn sure he always gave it all he had and showed the fans a heart of true greatness. Gatti displayed courage, bravery, will, guts, determination, and a massive heart, all characteristics of greatness.

I agree with all you said about Gatti.

But youre wrong in the bold! 2012 was fight of the year for Pacquiao vs Marquez!

Floyd has 0! To go with his 0!

        How 'bout ODLH?

Who did HE beat who went on a run and was top caliber?
        Rafael Ruelas?
        Miguel A. Gonzalez?
Pretty much crashed and burned after losses to Oscar.

The rest were either over-the-hill dudes, or Trinidad-ruined leftovers.

As you can see... if we try hard enough, we can shoot holes in just about any resume.

        say delahoya. his losses.

eye test. i seen delahoya look good vs. prime great tito.

when he fights "GOOD" fighters most the time he looks a level above.

great fights doesn't mean great fighter.

pac and floyd stunk out the joint. matthysse and prov put on a great fight.

gatti is no great fighter. resume wise or skill wise. not even good.

wins and losses, taken as a whole, broad picture, gives you a good idea.

I thought Cotto when he was younger was a smart and entertaining fighter with some good skills, but I must admit, that I never thought he was getting to a "great" status. He never had the wins that Tito had who took down a 23-year-old Yori Boy Campas who was 56-0(50) and who no one wanted to fight, an undefeated, young Oba Carr, a young, undefeated De La Hoya, a young undefeated Vargas, an undefeated David Reid and flattened once-beaten Joppy. You just knew when Tito got in there, it was on and he did not mind fighting anybody. He also never won a "vacant" title.

I have nothing against Cotto, but all-time great? He will be in the hall of fame, but possibly more on the fame and accomplishments as far as titles rather than substance. Let's see what he does against a young and once-beaten Canelo. Might change my mind.
cotto deserves hall of fame. great career.

but great career doesn't automatically mean great fighter.

A hoodlum, wanna be gangster, g, etc a pos. One who tried to use deadly force by the way. But because he's black you're the typical ignorant moron who paints him as some little angel with a halo above his head.

I've stated where people's true focus should be and we don't do anything about it.

Sums it up pretty well. I've enjoyed seeing him fight and he's given some fine performances, but could he hang with Trinidad, Hearns, Leonard, Robinson, Duran, Arguello? I can't see that happening.
