He's the biggest name in the division and other than cotto, the highest paid; Meaning more sanctioning fees for the sanctioning bodies. I'm sure they want him to have the belt. Still if that's not working, just move up. Your the #1 in the division with nothing else to prove. That's what everyone was saying about Broner after he beat DeMarco. He had proved he's the best in the class and it was time to move on. Maybe Golovkin should do the same thing if everyone in his class is so scared.

No they should criticize Loeffler! When your team says they'll move up for Chavez Jr,, and then says they won't move up for Ward, they're not ******, that's a smart move. However, once you say you won't fight Ward at 168, then you can no longer say that no one wants to fight you. GGG is still a beast, but he is not the most feared man in boxing! GGG should really consider the challenge by Lara @ 160, or prepare to go to 155 for Canelo or Cotto. There's really no where else to go...except UP!

he is now, but that took long years of hard work. going into the future, he will surely be more capable of securing fights than previously, so no reason to move up. but in the past, he absolutely was the most avoided boxer in the entire sport. let's not forget that he did even agree in principal to fight ward once

and look how that turned out for him. he is also a big guy (and apparently a big eater) and that probably played a role in his decision to move up. golovkin is 33 years old and a healthy, natural middleweight. anyway, wouldn't you find it a shame if he left his division without having the opportunity to actually prove in the ring just how good he really is at the weight?

Abel Sanchez has to take some of the blame too. That man just can't keep his mouth shut.

I sympathise with Golovkin. He's a good fighter but he's surrounded by idiots.

fights like ggg-ward and rigo-loma are luxury fights. although they would be nice, they don't have to happen because in both cases one fighter (i.e. the smaller one) would be taking a disproportionate amount of risk. and this also applies to ward-kovalev. i actually think that if they were the same size, ward would win, but in actual reality i have to lean towards kovalev
If all current fighters were all the same size the current lower weight fighters below 130 would totally dominate all the fighters above 130 apart from Mayweather. Rigo is a better technician than Mayweather. A 130lb Inoue would smash a 130lb Kovalev into another world.

First: GGG has never had an offer to fight Ward. You can't duck a fight you have never been offered.

Second: GGG and Ward are in different divisions. You know, like Rigo and Loma?

I saw you posting in a Rigo/Loma thread earlier, and you weren't accusing Rigo of ducking, even though he actually turned down an offer from Loma.

So what is it about Golovkin that makes you judge him by different standards than Rigo?

The only reason why Ward "called out" GGG this year was that WBC ordered GGG as mandatory for the Cotto's WBC strap... No brainer for a 10 years old child.
And Loeffler was in the middle of talks with GBP over Lemieux.

Then .... according to one "anonyous source", Ward suddenly decides he wants to fight GGG this fall.

Then .... "READ ALL ABOUT IT ... GGG DUCKS ANDRE WAAARD!!!"

                  Yeah, ok.

It doesn't work like that mate. The bigger a man is, the slower he is able to move and punch and the more energy he needs to fight at a fast pace.

If Inoue weighed 175lbs he would not be a bigger version of the 130lb Inoue, he would be a different guy completely!

This notion that GGG is being ducked by everyone is a fallacy. Canelos last fight was at 154.5, Cottos last fight he weighed 153.5...what did GGG weigh in on his last fight? Exactly.

When GGG can make it down to 155 he can catch that fade, by either Cotto or Canelo. Until then he will wait in line, and wait his turn like a good boy.
