GGG is finally fighting a live body, if you wanna call Lemieux that. I will cause its a step in the right direction but its the 1st step.

lets just compare like things shall we and see who is trying to fight good comp and who isn't...

ggg has tried to fight the best in his division over the last 4 years. quillin, lee, pirog, martinez, cotto, soliman, sturm, etc...

ward has tried to fight truax, sartison, periban, paul smith, and zac dunn while turning down fellow beltholders and top fighters

ggg right now is scheduled to fight lemeiux and canelo/cotto winner in his next 2 fights. 2 beltholders

ward is scheduled to fight nobody and turned down bute and hasn't made any offers to other top super middles

is ggg willing to move up and fight the best in the division above? no

is ward willing to move up and fight the best in the division above? no

Ward shouldn't have to be fighting guys he already beat years ago, there's nothing for him at 168.


He had his tune up, let him fight a guy like Fonfara at 175 then get the pay day/exposure he wants against Kovalev or Stevenson.


LHW is the right move for Ward now, not staying at SMW fighting Paul Smith's.

And i consider MW division a wasteland but GGG wants to stay there waiting for Cotto/Canelo who seem to be happy one below. All this A-side they spewed will come bite them in the a$s.

Ward is just waiting for GGG, maybe to shut that team up but who knows, and at SMW he has groves/Jack winner, DeGale, Abraham, Dirrell brothers who have unfinished business, and others on the rise. Can he get them IDK but he has options.

Same time i have no issue with Ward moving up for Fonfara, Stevenson, Kov, or the others.

Yes i agree Ward does need a big fight but GGG has been fighting "cans" till Lemiuex, which hasnt happened yet, so lets not put him on that pedestal just yet.

the big difference being ward has fought the best guy in the division twice while ggg officially hasn't although murray was robbed against martinez so he really should have been the best but you will probably pretend that didn't happen and say murray was a can.
