Very strong argument that Chavez's competition at 130 is better than Mayweather's at the same weight. Rocky Lockridge is unquestionably better than anyone Mayweather fought there, then you add in the likes of Laporte, Roger Mayweather, Martinez, Castillo. And sure, several fighters have gone 45-0 or better, but look at who they fought, JC Chavez fought almost no one his 1st 85 fights and then when he actually started fighting elite fighters he started taking some losses, that's the way it happens over and over. Mayweather started fighting elite guys in his 18th pro fight and he hasn't lost yet after his 48th fight.Comment

Hagler on Marciano and Mayweather's "unbeaten" records.
Surely Rocky does not really qualify for an unbeaten record. 49-1 is the real record, losing to Coley Wallace in a curiously listed "amateur" bout, yet the Rock was already fighting professionally. No doubt had he beaten Wallace, his record would read 50-0!
Far too much emphasis is put on unbeaten records, which in most, if not all cases, contain questionableable decisions.Comment
