I respect Hagler but he's wrong on this one, Marciano's resume is poor compared to Floyd's.

Also the heavyweight division might not have any weight limits but that doesn't mean anything when it comes to skill. There have been eras where there were a lot of talented heavies and there have been eras where there was a lack of them.
Come on with this, Ezzard Charles was better than any fighter that Floyd ever fought and Marciano beat him twice.

Hagler is a hater. Joe Louis was washed up when Marciano beat him.

Boxing has weight divisions for reasons , this is not down the park in a free for all this is a professional competition pound for pound , if Floyds boxing ability transitioned proportionally to a HW Floyd would be unbeatable he would be a faster better version of Ali , the HWs of any era never had the boxing ability of the lower divisions , its impossible for them to adapt in the same way as smaller guys because they dont have the speed , and believe it or not boxing really is a speed sport .

That's kind of the whole point of the sport. Seeing who can fight better not who has the bigger size advantage.
Marciano was definitely not able to beat anyone "because of size" so this is a moot point.

he beat them despite his rather pathetic (for a HW) size.

I'm a 5'10" 160 lbs but I don't need to do any pretending... The heavyweights are the best fighters of all time. The other divisions are handicap brackets designed so we have more going on year round. The HWs who are barely bigger than I am and still manage to win titles are the most impressive of all.

I'm not debating with you because you're speaking in abstract terms. Floyd isn't a heavyweight and never will be. Boxing has weight divisions to stop little guys from getting murdered by heavyweights. How does that make little guys better? You must be a manlet as well.

Good point, I think a lot this anti-hw talk is due to people's own insecurity. They identify more with a 5'6 140 pounder.

You didn't answer my question. Do you think Valuev is greater than Roberto Duran?

Clearly what Duran did is greater, valued barely did anything. That's not what we're talking about here. Two guys have similar records one did it at the top division with no restrictions another did it in several with limitations.

You obviously have no concept of when Marciano fought Charles.
