Pacquiao was originally supposed to fight Provo, because everyone expected him to win.

But he didn't--- so he fought Algieri (who won).

The Brandon Rios was a tuneup fight after being KTFO. Nothing wrong with that.

If Floyd was coming off getting his lights turned out and getting ktfo then yes Rios would be totally fine. And fighting Algierie as a tune up to a mega once in a lifetime fight then yes it would be fine.

Berto may not be great, but Algieiri is NEVER going to have the same level of respect Berto had in his career.

If Algieri didn't fight Manny, you would never have known he existed.
You have to consider both wins and losses over his career, and where he is currently at. Yes, at one time Berto was doing quite well. All the wins you just mentioned were good wins but they happened 5+ years ago. The Berto that beat those guys is not who he is anymore. He's washed up.

And again, because I watched Algieri-Provo, I would absolutely know who Algieri is. But feel free to keep saying that to yourself.

So you are saying he's a much better pro now then Algierie? Or was a better pro than Alguerie at one point.

Because right now I'd totally pick Algierie to beat Berto and beat him quite easily without question.

But before Berto was ****d by Ortiz, Guerrero and Soto-karrass and turned into a zombie I'd pick Berto over Algierie.

dude, you just admitted you watched algieri/provo then went back and watched Taylor/algieri. You've seen 3 fights live and 1 on tape, where he is 2-2, about 20% of his total fights. Is this enough to make a fair judgment about him?

So when he fought Manny you had seen 2 fights of his. if he wasn't on HBO when would you have seen him?

Yes, Berto isn't where he was, but Algieiri isn't even where Bert is right now. he has NO WW WINS. Berto at least won his last WW fight, even if it wasn't an earth shattering performance.

I'd still take Berto. Algieiri hasn't shown he can beat a WW yet. he did fight Khan tough, but that is still a loss.

Yes he did lose to khan on the cards but it was a super close fight and could have went either way. But no way absolutely no way Berto beats Algierie now.

These "Where was all the uproar.." type threads need to stop.

                  1. Not everything is comparable.
                  2. How the hell do some of you morons not understand that Mayweather is extremely difficult for a decent human being to like or respect? Of course he is going to get more "hate."

I can respect your opinion. I'm just asking Algieri win 1 fight at WW before we proclaim his ability to beat Berto. Again Berto isn't much, but Algieiri has never been on his level, even the low level he is on currently.
