Rofl if all this is true. And don't dare think it's Jr. giving back as he would state.
It's more like, Jr. doesn't want to embarrass himself with abysmal PPV #s following the Pac fight because that would prove moreso how much of a draw he really is without an A side opponent.
This fight is a joke, and will only be receiving attention because it's free. Nobody would pay a dime to watch it on PPV and Jr. knows this.

Safe to say he's not a draw.

Had someone floated around the idea of Berto as a potential Floyd opponent prior to Floyd mentioning him, even his most diehard fans would have laughed and dismissed him as an unworthy opponent. Now that it looks like he may in fact be Floyds opponent for Sept, the Floydboys are in full defense mode trying to legitimize this farce of a fight.

What people are doing is understanding that it is a farewell fight. Fufilling the last fight on his contract with an easy swan song of a fight before he rides off into the sunset. If his contract was 5 fights and not 6, he wouldn't be having this fight.
He's already beaten everybody, he's beaten all the guys he's been asked to. 13 time world champion in 5 weight classes, beaten 10 #1 ranked fighters, numerous P4P fighters, made all the money, headlined the 3 biggest PPV's ever.
He literally has nothing left to do or prove.
Hence, the farewell fight to finish his contract. For free no less.
That's if this does happen.
And also, people talked about this fight before Floyd mentioned it.
