Well, legacy-wise, you are probably right.

But styles make fights, and Canelo fought the wrong fight against Mayweather.

From a fans perspective, Lara would likely be Mayweathers most challenging opponent. Not sure if he could beat Mayweather, but I give him a better chance than Thurman/Brook/Berto.

Fighters from the past fought like 6 times a year, if 1 out of the 5 was a bum, it would be ok. The fighters would of basically fought everyone in the top 10, and either rematch them or give up and comers chances. Floyd has brook, thurman, khan and anyone else in the top 10, but chooses to fight berto. Huge difference.
