It's on ... WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather (48-0, 26KOs) is officially set to square off with Andre Berto in September ... TMZ Sports has confirmed.

The two have been in talks for weeks ... but now we're told from both camps that it's a done deal and the two will fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on September 12th.

This is going to be a horrible 24/7 or whatever they call it on CBS. Still cant believe this fight is happening. Good thing its on CBS because the PPV numbers would be disastrous. Floyd easily wins and he will fight again in May 2016.

Does it matter? He fought SSM, Cotto, Pac, Canelo etc. He said this was going to be a lay up fight about 2 seconds after the Pac fight.

At this point it is his prerogative to do as he pleases. It doens't make it any less disappointing from a fan POV, when he could have fought a guy like Thurman for example. Keep in mind this may not be the last fight though, and he could still lose it.....stranger things have happened in boxing.
