Mayweather fighting on Mexican holidays against Mexicans is just a coincidence

Mayweather admits it himself - put black fighters against Hispanic fighters and you draw the best numbers. Yet his fans try to deny it?

It's like how he literally and admittedly markets himself as a villain and his fans still ask "why they all hatin doe?"

It's more about trolling more than anything; who made a big deal about those dates before Floyd started doing? Oscar and Chavez Jr fought n those some of time. Like others they are the two best dates US sports calendar wise. The reality of American demographics is where ever there's a high population of Mexicans its a high population of African Americans in that same exact area. So it's a myth of who is actually buying PPV's.

Unlike Amir Khan or Kell Brook whose fanbases in America are virtually non-existent.
He averages a million every time out. And guaranteed to sell 2-3 times as much as Canelo has done on his own.

Against who though? Mexican or Hispanic fighters. Or fighters who are already big names like Mosley and Cotto.

It's a huge risk to try to fight a Khan or a Brook who have virtually no standing in America and go up against the double star power of Canelo-Cotto. Especially after most people who bought his fight with Pacquaio were disappointed.

Being Mexican doesn't automatically mean you have star power or a host of fans. You're either a star or you aren't, irrespective of race. Robert Guerrero is an unknown in America. So was Victor Ortiz. Mosley is a bigger name than both and he can't sell PPV on his own either. Doesn't matter the race, Mayweather will average about one million buys.

Mayweather's made enough for Showtime through five fights to choose whomever he feels like and he's already said that's what he'll do. Besides, aside from Cotto/Canelo or Pacquiao, the difference between the remaining options is de minimus.

There's a reason Robert Guerrero was chosen as the opponent and not Devon Alexander who was initially put out as "the frontrunner" by Floyd and had a world title. What did Guerrero have? Not hard to figure out.

Do you think if Berto had defeated Ghost and Broner had defeated Maidana, they would've gotten the Floyd fight instead?

If not Broner, who? At the time, Broner would've been an undefeated WW champion, former LW champ, with plenty of notoriety.

He'd be Kell Brook, only with a much bigger US fanbase and more accomplishments.
