Didn't Kovalev struggle to beat Boone as recent as 2010? I doubt he is still the same fighter that GGG KO'ed in sparring or that Boone almost beat(or did beat but got robbed who knows).

Kovalev KD-d Hopkins and KO-d Pascal in the 8th round light heavyweight. Two guys with solid chins. GGG went 10 round with Murray.
From this I think Kovalev is the harder hitter and add the obvious thing that Kovalev drops people on the same way as GGG does but two weight classes above --> he hits harder than Golovkin.
It's nice from him to compliment Golovkin but imo Kovalev can't feel hisown punches so I guess it's not a proper opinion.
The best would be ask the question from someone who got hit by both of them, but I say again I don't see much difference between them as far as the punching power goes but Kovalev does the same two weight classes above Golovkin so I can logically assume that he is the harder hitter.

Obviously not, but that wont stop the tards from running with it.

Classy of Kov to say that. Although I don't think he meant that GGG a MW hits harder than himself a LHW, I kinda feel like maybe he meant pound for pound GGG hits harder. Meaning his power to MWs is more damaging than Kovs power to LHWs; As opposed to "he is an overall stronger puncher than I am"

You kno Kovs English not the best, I figure he just didn't know how to say exactly what he meant.

That is a reasonable assumption, considering that Kovalevs statement is clearly not true. Kovalev is obviously pumping up his mate.

Let's see what Ward does to Paul Smith first. And for my money, both GGG and Kovalev are of a different breed than any other opponent Ward has faced. Specifically, there isn't an opponent that Ward has faced professionally who would not be beaten by GGG an Kovalev, but their K.O. percentage would be far higher than what Ward achieved (much the same as for the fighters GGG defeated at middleweight and Kovalev defeated at light heavyweight).

Every fighter describes Golovkin's punches not the hardest but different. He's probably one of these, once-in-a-generation freakish puncher.

The very same " strange" punching power that Pacquiao had for a few years....
