They were hoping they had the next great American HW in Jennings and Wlad put that to rest. They even had Lederman keep the fight as close as possible to make it seem competitive. Kellerman and Roy were even trying to push a rematch for that one sided beatdown. If you notice, all 5 fighters on that list embarrassed a fighter that HBO had their hopes on.

You can't knock HBO though. Haymon/PBC has taken away the urban audience so they need to find a target market to counter that. So they are going to promote the blood thirsty fights to stay ahead of the game.

How sad is it to watch the premiere network for boxing devalue boxing skills to such a degree.

Imagine the NFL network devaluing tackling or NBA TV devaluing shooting and dribbling?
