Hatton put in more effort than Manny, he didn't win more rounds and ended up getting KO'd.

There is a difference between fighting a better fight and fighting 'harder'. Manny was always going to lose but I think the way Manny fought Floyd is the correct way to go about things, everyone tries constant pressure and it's got to the point when I think you have to look at it and say it isn't the formula.

A taller boxer with length and enough movement would do it for me, I always though if Martinez got in the ring with Floyd Martinez would have walked away the winner. It also unfortunately that the WW division has no Tommy Hearns/Sandy Saddler figure for Floyd to fight.

Prime Manny had a chance because he had an iron chin.

His chin had little to do with losing, if Manny was to make it closer it would have been his quicker feet and higher volume when he was younger.

Floyd beats any version of Manny 9/10. Manny doesn't do well against counter punchers especially not one like Floyd who won't exchange with him.

But Pac was extra tentative after one of the most brutal knockouts in boxing history.

Played a very big role in this fight.

Pac being tentative against Bradley showed this.
          Yes i agree....

How did he cherry pick JMM? A guy who arguably beat him 3 times? That's a cherry pick now?

Prime Pac would have walked through him to land though

Not to mention the shoulder injury, sounds like excuses but I think Pac was just very unlucky.

It is excuses, Pacquiao wouldn't have anything to walk though. Mayweather isn't Marquez.

Marquez throws shots but stays in the same place, Mayweather creates distances either counters and gets out the way or throws a jab/lead right/lead left hook and gets out the way.

Manny cannot walk through Floyd punches because when he gets to Floyd he will be 2 metres away and Manny would have to reset. Floyd is the better fighter. Period. I love Manny but some of his fanbase are embarrassing him trying to come up with every little things to make excuses.

I was about to say the same thing. Floyd doesn't hit you and then stay there to hit you more. He hits you and gets the **** out, you need to stay on him and smother him to make sure he doesn't do that. Manny's never been able to do that.

wait what? canelo did **** all in that fight, way worse than pacquiao who won maybe 2 or 3 rounds including a big round in the 4th. he won like one round, and that's cause floyd gave it to him. got schooled 11 rounds to 1.

What a terrible comparison? When Hatton challenged Mayweather in 2007, he was 29 years old and had not once ever tasted defeat or been in many ring wars in his career leading up to that fight. However, more importantly he had never been KO before facing Mayweather as well.

Pac on the other hand, by the time he inevitably challenged Money was 36 and a half years old and had been in several ring wars and trilogies and tasted defeat several times before; Five to be exact. In addition, he had already been KO on at least three different occasions before meeting Floyd Mayweather too.
