China and Russia are usually up there with you in the medals tables but they are not involved in anywhere near as many sports from a grassroots level as USA. Also Britain was only 3rd place in the last olympics medal table yet the population is around 6 times smaller. You would need like 4 or 5 countries from europe like the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain to make up the population of USA and then if they grouped that population together, i'm sure USA couldn't dominate the medals chart. Infact last Olympics if you had the UK and Germany combined, it would have been still 3x less in population than USA but more medals...so it does make a difference. It's not that USA are better athletes, its simply a case of population + sport promoted from a young grassroots level.

Literally 10 miles away you have Wigan a professional football team and Wigan Warriors a professional rugby team. 5 miles from Wigan you have Bolton a professional football team. You have Rochdale with professional football and rugby teams and we are talking small towns here... there are LOADS more to + 10,000 of Amatuer football clubs in the area never mind all the other sports. All in a 25 miles radius. The UK is saturated with sport more then the USA.
Haha yes, i mean what were the people of Manchester supposed to do. The number 1 sport in the world, and they have 2 clubs in the city. Nah, they will have to go the Boxing..i mean nothing going on footy wise for them is there.

As for all those Boxing fans supporting London fighters. It's obvious they only doing so as there's no footy teams on their door step to watch. I mean theres is literally not dozens and dozens of local teams for them to support and watch every weekend. Yep, they better go the boxing..as the choices and options are out there are so thin.

If we can't find a field and some sticks to make wickets..we will have to watch the boxing and get behind are fighters. Are options are so thin afterall.

The majority of football fans won't follow any other sport as football takes up most of their time.
Spot on. He doesn't realise it. Football is actually like a religion here. It's part of everyday life and culture for millions. There are some smaller places in the UK actually where success of the Football team is part of their local economy growth.

It's not just a sport and entertainment here. It's culture, its economy, it's a lifestyle for some.

Heroes are boring without a great Villain. America LOVES Villains either people love to hate them or they love them because everybody else hates them.

Ward is trying to be the Nice Guy Hero but because of the way Mayweather marketed himself and embraced being the Villain. Boxing next American Superstar will sadly have to be a WILD IGNORANT VILLAIN!

Why do you think Broner intrigues people? If the Boxing Skills ever catch up with the Bravado...Broner will be a SUPERSTAR because he is not afraid to make a complete ASS out of himself to sell a fight to Casuals and he is already known more than a lot of other boxers who have accomplished more and is more talented than he is.

UK and others take PRIDE in their OWN, while us Americans, we're all over the place and many of us root against our own to make things more ENTERTAINING. It is like one big Melting Pot, anybody can come here and find a small community of their own here in the US. Look how the Crowd was PRO Wlad over the American Born Jennings last night

Why would it hurt? one side of my family are Americans. Although i must admit they are the side of my family who have a simple theory on everything and can't understand when someone brings a bit of depth or statistical matters beyond a simple mathematic chart into the equation.
