Andre Ward: UK fans better because they have less options.

Do you agree with Andre Ward when it comes to the UK fanbase

"Just in the Bay Area alone I got to compete with the Warriors, The San Francisco Giants, the 49ers, The Raiders and the list goes on....In the UK they've got cricket and soccer, they have less options so when they get a champion or someone on the rise....they go all in"

Haha ridiculous. If he'd have stuck to boxers then maybe he'd have a point. But we have plenty of other sports to watch. Football is the behemoth. No other sport can compete. Then Rugby, cricket and tennis come behind football.

Boxing is well down the list when it comes to popularity. We are good fans because we go to events and have a good time, create an atmosphere and support our fighters even when they lose.

Hell most of our popular boxers are 'allied' to a specific football clubs fans (froch = Nottingham Forrest, Hatton=city, Price=Liverpool etc)

Talking ****...... Manchester has two elite football clubs with 75,000 & 50,000 seat stadiums, then you have 2 professional rugby teams sale - Union & Salford -League. Then you have Stockport another professional football club 5 miles away. Literally 10 miles away you have Wigan a professional football team and Wigan Warriors a professional rugby team. 5 miles from Wigan you have Bolton a professional football team. You have Rochdale with professional football and rugby teams and we are talking small towns here... there are LOADS more to + 10,000 of Amatuer football clubs in the area never mind all the other sports. All in a 25 miles radius. The UK is saturated with sport more then the USA.

we probably have more sports clubs per square mile than any other nation on earth, and boxers don't directly compete with local sport franchises for attention anyway. thought ward was smarter than that (unless he's just on a wind-up)

There is nothing wrong with US fans. They just want and demand entertainment inside and outside the ring and as much as I like Ward he isn't must see TV.

Say what you want about Floyd but he promotes himself year around and knocked dudes out in the lower weight classes.

I actually think.US fans are better in general than in.the UK. You guys seem to have more boxing fans, whereas over here its more about being fans of individual boxers.

But to say its because of lack of choice is crazy.

Shots fired lol. But he has a point. I mean I think maybe Brits are just more drunk in general. They go ***in nuts for guys like scot quigg. If e was American he'd have as many fans as Tim Bradley, prob not even that many. Have u ever seen darts on tv? They go nuts over that too for some reason lol. Americans are more subdued about sports
