  • Floyd loves to break all records. He knows that hate sells his stock. People will help him break all PPV records making these type of comments. It used to be his profanity that sold but that's gotten old. People spend millions to see him lose. And Floyd laughs his way to the bank flaunting your money. This is savvy.

Sorry to burst your bubble, floyd's cherry picking ways will never ever touch ali's accomplishments.

And it's all his fault for going the safe route. atgs proves themselves time and time again. Floyd took the safe route. he will never break top 20 lol

      top 20 is pushing it.

      • Better than Ali?? Maybe heavyweights are inferior in technique and stamina. I actually got a bigger beef with casual fans recognizing ali as the greatest instead robinson, leanord, duran and so on.. No problem with him saying that But better than Robinson and leanord???? hell to the no!!!!!

        • I'm cool with it as long as he doesn't say he's better than Derek Jeter.

p4p though, Rigondeaux trumphs him, as well as Ricardo Lopez, I'd also argue Ivan Calderon. Two of the least appreciated bust most sublimely skilled fighters of recent times. Also, Roy Jones Jr... Prime for Prime... Sorry Floyd, you would have gotten James Toneyed.

Then I would take Pernell Whitaker over him in a heart beat. Floyd had nightmares with Castillo, imagine what JCChavez would have given him.

Then Duran... Yeah, Imagine being where you are in your career right now Floyd, then I dunno, Jumping up to fight Andre Ward, and winning decisively... Yeah, Duran did something on that level.

Floyds problem is that he is comparing himself against guys who proved themselves against the best fighter of their generation while they were in their prime. No matter what happens with the Pacquaio fight, which I am assuming will be a fairly one sided fight in Floyds favor, he has carved a legacy for himself as the guy who picks on old men to win.

He never picked on a Sugar Ray Leonard. He never picked on a Julio Cesar Chavez, he never picked on a Thomas Hearns, or a James Toney, or a Bernard Hopkins.

His career defining performance was against Deigo Corralles. That says a lot about what you have done in the sport.

Yes Floyd, p4p, you are the biggest draw the sport has ever seen probably.
Skill wise, sorry. Not even close.
Rigondeaux is good but has to increment his resume to compete with Floyds' resume. Ricardo Lopez was great but fought nothing but Tijuana taxi drivers. I don't blame him, not much real competition in that division. Same goes with Ivan Caderon when Giovanni Segura proved that Calderon was nothing special. Roy Jones Jr. got iced by Taver, Floyd hasn't been iced, EVER. Floyd has what it takes to outbox Chavez Sr the way Meldric Taylor did in their first fight, except Floyd doesn't get knocked down the way Taylor was. Pernell vs Floyd you say? Floyd forces Pernell into his turtle shell and counters him when he comes out of it. Pernell got beat, Floyd hasn't. Leonard got beat by Hagler everyone is aware of that. Floyd would have outboxed Leonard with counters while Leonard lands nothing but air on Floyd.

You mentioned everybody but Sugar Ray Robinson. I wonder why.

Sugar Ray Robinson is the only boxer who can tell Floyd "i was better than what you ever was"

Floyd will beat Pacquiao no doubt about it. But what else does Floyd have to do to really be considered TBE?

              Fighters Floyd has to beat to dethrone Sugar Ray Robinson;

Future Hall of Famer and upcoming superstar Terence Crawford,
              GGG at middleweight.

That wont happen because Floyd will retire in September 50-0 against an overmatched Danny Garcia or Khan.

You can call yourself the best in your time. that's fine, That's confidence, but to say your the best from other era's that you haven't faced. that's blasphemy.
I won't argue on that point. I'm certainly not a fan of his character outside of the ring in general, I can't support any man who beats on women (in front of his kids).

(edit) Ray Robinson beat women too, unfortunately.

                • Ali didn't move up to the non-existing weight class. That should def be held against him.
so, how bout SRL, titles in 5 wt classes and wins over 4 ATGS ( Hagler, Duran, Hearns, Benitez)

                  • Everybody shut up...he is a fighter!!!

I have no problem with this...Sugar Ray said the same thing he is the best ever. Ali felt he was the best ever. When you dedicate your life to something and you dominant it you should think that. That's for anything in life. He is not wrong for thinking he is the best. Now we have our opinions to. Stop making this bigger then what it is.

                    • People act like losing means that you're not a good fighter. Even if the loss was avenged, you're not a good fighter all time.

People don't care that Floyd is undefeated, those who know boxing know that he isn't unbeatable. Castillo, Judah, & Maidana showed that. The issue is who he has ducked throughout his career.
