It is obvious to me that Michael Koncz had absolutely nothing to do with the Mayweather/Pacquaio negotiations. He didn't participate in negotiations in any way, wasn't consulted and knew absolutely nothing about what was going on in negotiations except for what he read on boxing websites, just like boxing fans.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of Pacquaio worshippers who are dumb enough to believe that, after negotiations are complete and the contracts are signed, Koncz actually has/had some influence in negotiations. This pursuit of Koncz's regarding the $5 million fine is a feeble attempt to con gullible fans into believe that.

The contracts have already been signed. The fight is already scheduled. Koncz should stop trying to sound like he's relevant, even his puppet master Arum thinks this is a ****** idea.

Agreeing to that fine can hamper future litigation by other party the person who tested positive lawyers can tell judge that the fine was the agreed upon amount to be exchange no farther damages need to be awarded that's why it was dumb to suggest it a good lawyer can make the plantiff look ****** and only 5 mil will be awarded for failing test without that clause you can sue for your purse you was suppose to get and pretty much win

Normally, I would agree with you. Except, the networks and promoters would never agree to cancelling this megafight over a positive test result. After Berto-Ortiz II & Khan-Peterson II were cancelled due to positive tests, promoters got smart and made sure fights wouldn't get cancelled, so they don't lose millions. And by keeping the fight on schedule, the fighter that tested positive is indemnified by the promoters and the networks. So your litigation scenario would never happen. They won't cancel and the clean fighter is screwed into fighting a cheater.

In a interview before the Mayweather-Pacquiao was officially signed, Pacquiao did say he wanted a $5 mil penalty for a positive drug test. Obviously, that didn't happen and they are still pushing for it. So the question is....why is Floyd refusing??

The real intent was bad PR for Floyd and it worked. They made the $5 mil penalty refusal newsworthy and ESPN reported it! What Koncz did was clever because now Floyd fans are desperately trying to defend him for refusing to pay his opponent a penalty for testing positive. The same Floyd fans that accused Pacquiao for being a cheat! The irony is beautiful.

Koncz rly is an idiot......Didnt have to fight Rios, and if you didnt you could have filed a lawsuit for monetary damages related to the fight and the money lost.

Maybe Im too far out the box, but it seems odd for Koncz to bring this up continually for a couple days now. Im sure the 5 mil penalty if signed also states that the only thing paid out if Manny tests is only 5 mil, not being able to sue for a 100 million. Not dumb considering i doubt USADA or NSAC fines for much higher.
