It's a very simple point here, should be obvious. The numbers you provided only prove my point. HBO is happy paying for those kind of Golovkin fights because they are inexpensive and have solid ratings. Ward is likely asking at least double what GGG is getting for his next fight. I'm sure Roc Nation plays a big role as well, as they're likely looking for good money coming back for their huge investment in Ward. The asking price is too high for HBO for that kind of quality opponent.
Hey bUT ward's fight on hbo brought in really good numbers even though he was coming off a long layoff then. Ward already proved himself beat ever top 168er in his division. Gennady has not even come close

All I'm saying is why HBO would reject Oosthuizen - it's about the money bro, that's all. Of course Ward is proven, we all know that. From what it looks like, Hershman doesn't want to pay whatever Ward is asking for that particular opponent. I'm sure HBO & Ward will work something out soon. It's really not even a big story, networks reject fights all the time, business as usual.

I point out the $10 tickets because, if the venue actually ends up with 40,000 people in the seats, 30,000-35,000 of those people will likely end up in seats that will be comped or seats that they paid $10 for.

If Ward was in the same situation (return fight at Oakland Coliseum, a promotional company backing him with money, a TV network that's utterly giddy with having him on the channel [with 24/7 likely in the cue already], and tickets starting at $10), he may not be able to get 40,000 people into the venue, but 20k-25k wouldn't be impossible to picture. If they push the comped tickets on the eve of the event, that number might even get to 30k.

hopefully the Tx folks disclose the number of tickets actually paid for and the gate, respectively
only the nose bleeds are $10, last time at the alamo 10k out of 40k were cheap tickets,so stop trolling...
by the way canelo can sell out mgm any given day fighting nonames, same goes for thomas and mack and stub hub, are those $10 too??
just keep in mind that broner, mares, guerrero, thurman and molina together couldnt fill up the mgm even with free tickets... haymon had to pay to have a decent crowd...

Even with Haymon giving away tickets and paying people to sit in empty seats, he still could barely fill half of the MGM.

I'm curious to see how Chavez Jr. does at StubHub in comparison to GGG's fight there against Rubio. Will he be able to equal his over flowing sold out venue?

Golovkin is a prospect compared to Ward.

Watch them try and dig up Mayorga, pavlik, Kessler 2, glen johnson or dawson 2

                      Ward needs a name
