He gained a defense force that didn't care about him beforehand and will defend him as "the champ" no matter how much ducking and dodging he does.
What has Stevenson gained thus far by signing with Haymon?

Another 'binnis' fan.He gained money~
He had easy paydays and the Kovalev fight was not worth a large sum more than those figures until this weekend.
So he got to bide his time making solid cash while the big fight got even bigger, at low risk.
What is worth more fighting Kovalev in a 50/50 fight for 1.5
Or fighting two other fights for over 1 million then fighting Kovalev for more than 2 million. My maths skills aren't what they once were, but I think the answer is clear.Comment

This is what it looks like but TS is right on all other points which should vastly out weigh the small gain he got. In addition to that Kovalev has pretty much usurped the position as number 1 at 175 without fighting Stevenson or Stevenson losing to anyone.Comment

Glad you disagree with me, it makes me feel even better about what I am saying~
Is Kovalev-Stevenson not bigger than it has ever been?
If Stevenson can take care of business against Bika on CBS (leaving Bika laid out), that should only add on. That said the best laid plans in boxing often fall apart so who knows maybe karma will catch Stevenson before the plan can come off properly.
I know most would be happy with that sort of thing but then you end up with Kovalev-Bika which no matter how Stevenson-Bika goes that wouldn't get my boxing juices flowing like Kovalev-Stevenson.Comment

Dunn has skin as thick as a dirty old rhino! Haymon, or any of his fighters could shit on his dinner and he would still high five them and tuck in after wiping their arse! It's strange though because if Dunn was so concerned about his guys getting money then he would be pushing Adonis to fight Kovalev. That's his highest purse so why not "get dat money"?
Notice he'll also try to sneakily **** on Kovalev for getting "hoodwinked" in the negotiations against Hopkins and he'll lie about the purse (it wasn't 150k). Yet now Kovalev is earning more than Stevenson and it's killing him

You think Stevenson is gonna fight Kovalev after Bika?Glad you disagree with me, it makes me feel even better about what I am saying~

Depends how you look at it.He gained money~

He would have earned more to fight Kovalev than any of the bums he's been facing. That much is established. If he was confident of winning that fight, it would have opened up doors to gaining bigger purses - kinda like it did for Kovalev when he took and won the Hopkins fight.
In reality, he "gained money" in the sense that he pissed his pants over the idea that Kovalev would starch him and end his career as well as his earning potential on the spot.Comment

Do you know the future?
I know that is the money fight for him, now more than ever so if he will ever do it, it will be soon. If he doesn't then it will never happen because Kovalev is unlikely to get much hotter than he is currently.
I am a big believer in "money talks, bull**** walks", and biding time to do a fight at the right moment is not a huge crime for me. IF he doesn't come through no big loss, Kovalev will do his thing and Stevenson will fade until he loses to a scrub. So why even get twisted over something like that?Comment

No it doesn't.Depends how you look at it.

Kovalev is a 50/50 fight so there is a large risk of reduced earnings after, and that fight was not worth much more than he was getting paid to fight scrubs at that point.
So he fights 2 fights with very small risk for almost as much money, right there he is ahead of the game, because the Kovalev fight has only gotten bigger.
Kovalev (1.5ish), ?????????????????????????????????????????????????
or
Bum (1 million), Scrub (1 million), Kovalev (more than 1.5)
There is not looking at that other ways that is the proper way to go to maximize for an aging and limited fighter.Comment
