Wilder can fight who he wants, when he wants. As long as he meets his mandatory obligations I don't see why people should have a problem with it
So Wilder turned down 10M for Povetkin.

We all know he's not even a real champ anyways... Everyone who is worth knowing/talking to about boxing, realizes, and recognzes only ONE true HW champ right now. And he holds a doctorate in Steel-hammering (and sports science!)Comment

Right on mates, Wilder is the great black hope.
Why not protect his "championship" status as long as possibe, eh? That's what happens when you're the "hope/hype."Comment

"Look, (Wilder) is a baby winning the title. It was his first title fight, they'll be a time for unification, they'll be a time for all those things, he could go and Povetkin (the No. 2 contender) in Russia and make $10 million," Finkel said. "It's not the right thing yet. Give him a couple of fights, maybe bring something back to Alabama. Let him develop just like any other athlete. They don't take someone who is a great college prospect and throw him right in. And this kid is a great prospect."
Thanks for confirming that it is indeed true.Comment

I suspect that they gave you all a kind of bad medicine or something -- you all sound like manchurian candidates or AK Ultra attendees...Comment

I like both Wilder and Povetkin as fighters.
Povetkin was screwed over by the ref in his last title fight, but he's scored a couple beautiful KOs since then.
Wilder has grown dramatically and overcome the odds at every turn, and he hasn't yet reached the peak of his powers.
I think a fight between them would be great and I hope it happens.Comment

I never mentioned him faces soft opponents. I'd mention him facing fighters that would help him improve while not biting off more than he can chew (Povetkin is 50-50 by the end of next year its in Wilder's favor IMO).Comment
