Stop hanging on the money when the issue is principle. You dont care what a fighter makes anyway. So if he offered deontay $5 mil its different?

You justified hatton/witter on the basis of earning more later. Same thing applies to wilder here, he could earn more for a povetkin fight later. Same reason you won't answer the Floyd cotton question. You pick and choose where earning more later is OK to justify actions by a fighter you like.

    Stop the english double standard.

I think Wilder would KO Povetkin in five rounds after softening him up. Stick and move and pick your shots wisely like he did against Stiverene. Povetkin wouldn't have an answer for Wilder and people forget Povetkin is 35 years old and Wilder is only 29 and in his prime.
It's not Wilder's decision. Haymon moved Wilder into position over all these years to become a HW title-holder, so that in turn Haymon could showcase him on the PBC series.

$10mill is short-sighted money in Al's eyes, he needs Deontay to draw viewers on NBC and in turn draw sponsors.

Povetkin's promoter is also promoter to WBA MW interim champ - Dmitry Chudinov. They tried to make a fight with WBA MW reg. champ Danny Jacobs and were unable to do so.

Money is the issue when you're being offered 10 times your highest purse.

If Hatton and Witter fought at that point, they'd make less than a million each. Just makes no sense especially when both are domestic level. If one of them lost and missed out on the fight then they wouldn't look back and say "damn I should have taken those few hundred thousands"...LOL it wouldn't matter.

If you turn down a guaranteed 10 million and then *** up then you lose ten million dollars. There's no excuse to turn down that kind of money. And there's no guarantee an offer like that will come again.

This is getting tiresome because you keep comparing ridiculously different situations. How bout you compare something like Haye winning the HW title and not fighting Wlad. Cos that's actually similar. You just look a complete mug right now.

... So: WBO elevated Golovkin to "Super World", thus vacating the "World" title for which Jacobs KOd Fletcher... While Chudinov is "but" interim WBO World titlist... Don't they also have a "diamond" title or something?

Whether it's true or not, the attitude to the offer from some posters is the real story here.

I don't know much about him but I think he heads some large real estate investment company but he was the man who made that enormous bid for Povetkin-Klitschko and he has put on pretty big Russian shows since under the promotion company called 'World Boxing'. Probably connected to ***** in some fashion and it looks to me like it is more about building the stature of Russia than making a profit. Haymon is small fry in comparison to this guy though.
