"Look, (Wilder) is a baby winning the title. It was his first title fight, they'll be a time for unification, they'll be a time for all those things, he could go and Povetkin (the No. 2 contender) in Russia and make $10 million," Finkel said. "It's not the right thing yet. Give him a couple of fights, maybe bring something back to Alabama. Let him develop just like any other athlete. They don't take someone who is a great college prospect and throw him right in. And this kid is a great prospect."
Thanks for confirming that it is indeed true.
If an offer has been made, it should be easy for a reporter to confirm by calling the Russian's promoter.Comment

This...
I'm a yank me'self, but it's pathetic how Americans still believe that USA is the "mecca of boxing" where all boxers "have to fight" to prove themselves.
Or where all major fights should take place.
This is a new era of boxing, where USA no longer has the most dominant boxers, and world class talent is spread all over the world - across different races, nationalities, etc.Comment

The updated Rankings will come out next month
Same people saying that it's a paper belt are now holding wilder to standards. Why? I thought it was a meaningless belt .
If you think wlad is gonna retire without having fought the WBC champ then you're wrong.
That's a huge fight. And it will most likely be in wlads last fight. That way if the WBC champ loses he can fight for the vacant belts.
Of course you guys want wilder to potentially spoil a unification fight down the line by going to Russia instead of building his brand in America on nbc and showtime
