Why do people talk about Kell Brook like he's an established force?

Will he fight Thurman? Doubt it, but I'd give him credit and it would improve his fan level with me.

I'm not sure if I can approve of the Khan fight yet as his opposition aside from Porter has not been stiff enough for my liking, but I think the Khan fight may indeed happen if Pac Floyd happens.

What do you guys think about Brook? People call Thurman overrated but I think they're around the same level, actually I think Thurman's resume is superior.
Brook is the only other title holder in the division outside of Pac and May and has beaten Porter, a guy who was ranked in the top 5. If that doesn't make him more established at welter than Thurman, I dunno what will.

Marquez has wins over Pacquiao, Alvarado
Maidana has Broner, Lopez, Soto Karass
      Khan has Alexander and Collazo
Thurman has Bundu, Diaz (had a draw with Porter), and Chaves
      ect.

He has a good win and a pretty record, we need to see more before we start calling him a top guy.
True,, I messed up by saying he had better wins than the other contenders, I was talking about the gbp showtime roster and didn't even think of Bradley, marquez. He has better than most.. I think his win over Porter is better than anything on Thurman's, khan, or Maidana's resume at welter.. Marquez and Bradley have better wins,,
Maidana's best win is broner, and he got beaten by Devon
Thurman hasn't beaten any contender yet
Kahn's best win is Devon who got beat down by Porter
Ghost beat Berto a few years ago
I think brooks win over Porter is better than all of those
Brook beat an undefeated champion that was coming off 2 great career wins over pauli and Devon.. None of the others can say that about their top wins

Any possibility of Brook taking Thurman for his next fight? Or he would rather fight tomato cans to guarantee wins before heading to the Khan fight?

He is very good but nothing about him says greatness unless he gets much better which at his age seems unlikely. I think he is on the same level as Thurman and that would be a good fight to learn about both of them.
This is what came to mind for me as well. How bout' One Time vs Special K winner gets Khan? Or Maidana maybe?

Collazo and Alexander are better than anyone on Brook's resume aside from Porter. And people familiar with my posts know I'm far from a Khan fan, just telling it like it is.

many users on this forum can easily name 5 of amir khans last opponents,

apart from shevchenko and porter can you honestly name any other boxer brook has fought?
being able to name a blown up Diaz and piss poor Molina doesn't make them good. Saldivia (IBF #3) was ranked higher than both when Brook flattened him but is he considered a particularly good win? No.

Brook had to work his way into mandatory positions, several times, and had injury problems. At the end of the day, Brook is now world champion and perfectly happy to stomp Khan...what difference does age make?

A lot of pathetic sensitive bumsniffs in here.

RichCCFC says he's the second best Welter?? wtf.

Brook has a good win vs Porter (Porter beat two decent fighters) solid win.

But he's 28 and has one good win? lol he's in his peak with one good win.

Put him in there with Thurman, Maidana and Bradley and I'm sold.

Chaves and Bundu are DEFINITELY contenders.

****, some sanctioning bodies have them each in the top 10.
