He is a very good fighter and will beat anybody outside of Floyd at welterweight.
Overrated Bradley, he'd U.D that ass all day. He probably knock Marquez out. He'd batter One Time and Khan on the same night.

I think a lot of fighters at welterweight actually have zero wins worth much. Soto Karass, Broner, Paulie - Are they supposed to be great welterweights or something? High end journeyman/gatekeepers/fringe top 10/15 at 140 fighters.

If these guys are good wins then Porter must be a great win.

Brook is a very good fighter and will have a lot of success at welterweight providing his injury hasn't hampered him.
I think he is levels above most of these supposed world class welters. I don't think he even showed his best vs Porter, he looked to me like he didn't even have to get out of second gear.
You don't have to listen to me, but dammit you gotta listen to Dan!

Sure, he has had injuries, but hasn't he fought like once in two years?

And before that, he has always been carefully matched. Boxing fans have the attention of a fly. If someone is undefeated they think he must be the best, but that is nonsense.

I think Brook gets outboxed by slicksters. But I also think Brook is a bum hunter. Thurman challenged him, but Hearn said no on Brooks behalf.

Carefully matched or brought up the correct way a prospect should?

If he took that fight and whooped him who would give him credit?
Thurman is kind of where Brook was before he beat Porter - hes beat some okay fighters but nobody of note and most of the guys that was hyping him have already jumped off the bandwagon despite him winning a shutout

What does Brook have to gain from fighting him?
Khan, Marquez, Pacquaio, Floyd even Bradley bring so much more to the table. He has nothing to gain from fighting Thurman unless he wins a strap or at the very least gets a meaningful win.
Its all risk and no reward.

Brook called out Thurman after the fight no? I really can't believe people think he's a hype job. I agree with you that Floyd is Brook's true rival in the division. His size is simply too much along with his skills, reflexes, speed and power for most fighters at the weight. In truth I'd actually rather see Brook/Pacquaio with the winner fighting Floyd. I'd pick Brook to beat Lara, that's how highly I rate him.

I'd have thought that you - a die hard Khan fan - would refrain from calling other top boxers bums, seeing as how often Khan gets called a bum by ******ed fans.

I expected better from you son.

I think he did mention his name, yeah. I'm sure he probably meant further down the line if Thurman got a title or did something to make it a big fight.
There is too many huge fights for Brook out there to give this guy an opportunity. Maybe he will fight him but I feel there are far better, more rewarding fights for him he should chase.

Brook should get his mandatory out of the way, a good fighter but nothing too write home about, that should give him some rounds and look to get involved in a superfight. Marquez in the U.K would be huge, Khan in the U.K could sell out Wembley. Floyds always expressed interest in fighting in the U.K again and maybe he'd take that to annoy Khan and that maybe would make a future Khan vs Floyd fight a bigger rivalry. Could you imagine how annoyed Khan would get if he fought Brook over him? lol

Thurman has no title, no real fan base, he brings little money at all & to top it he has a style that will make just about anyone look bad.

Brook is good and will get better.

I think that you will see more quality from him as his quality of opposition increases.
