when oscar was a young lion he fought the veteran greats i.e. chavez, pernell

when oscar was at his peak, he fought his contemporary rivals in their prime i.e. tito, ike, shane

when oscar was a past prime fighter he fought the young lions like floyd and manny...




at every stage of his career he fought the best.......

Always been a bit of a De La Hoya fan. I've always felt he was better than the boxing public have you believe. I hold him higher than guys that got wins against him in his prime like Trinidad or Mosley.

I'm a Oscar hater. Great resume believe TR did a excellent job building him up and knew when to put him in fights .but in my opinion he's a good fighter for his era he's not one of the best but he was the $ man.

Starting out He built his resume fighting past prime legends and when he fought the elite guys of his era he lost. Since Tito what notable wins does be have Vargas, Mayorga, Gatti.

Over-Rated but that resume is insane.

This just tells me that you didn't really watch the fight or remember it. He outthrew and outpunched Trinidad in that round if I remember correctly as well as fought half of the time in the middle of the ring. Oscar did not run for four rounds, three yes.

That's true in a way, specially with Floyd vs Baldomir. One of the most boring fights I've ever seen.

Mayweather didn't fight Baldomir the same way Oscar fought Trinidad in those later rounds. But I can't convince delusional people.
