Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think Arum may have had a 2-minute conversation with Moonves. Now he is going telling everybody what Moonves thinks and wants. The fact that Arum is going around telling everybody that Moonves thinks this fight shouldn't happen on May 2 is silly.

Being the lawyer that he is, he made sure not to say that. Like Moonves would be like, "Indeed you're right, Robert! I will give that date to HBO with pleasure! How are the kids?"

Yea forget the fact that it has been independently verified that he is indeed having discussions with Les Moonves. If he wasn't really doing that, you don't think everyone on team mayweather and their mother would be saying hes lying about that? Freddie Roach confirmed it and even Les Moonves himself confirmed it but wouldn't go into details about the negotiations, but there definitely are negotiations. lol idiots will try to do anything to prove that pacquiao and arum are the ones stopping this fight, when in reality they are the ones who have initiated trying to get this fight done and they have proved it by going to les moonves there is no dis*****g that, it is simply fact

Mayweather is his own boss. He decides who he fights and when. Al Haymon works for Mayweather, not the other way around. Apparently, YOU don't understand that!

Arum knows that Mayweather is not going to budge from his May 2 fight plans, no matter who he fights on that day. Arum is using the date as an excuse not to make the fight.

The Cotto/Alvarez fight is not signed and, as far as anyone but Cotto knows, is not close to being signed and is not guaranteed to happen at all regardless of the date. But Bob Arum cares so damn much about ethnic heritage that he would rather see Alvarez fight Joshua Clottey on regular HBO on May 2 than make the biggest fight in history on that date?

Why does it have to be on May 2nd though?

When they were negotiating in late 2009, the fight was supposed to be in March 2010 so why the focus on May?

Oscar and Arum are on the same page they are negotiating and willing to give Floyd the May 2 as long as it's going to be Pacquiao they just want confirmation that he will fight Pacquiao on that date. But so far no confirmation from Floyd.
