Arum isn't going to let Pacquiao go; Cotto made sure that he became a free agent, to chase the fights and purses that are in his own benefit. He hired a lawyer/adviser whom he can trust (Gaby Penagaricano) and he's got a fight-by-fight relationship with Top Rank (DuBoef and Cotto are far closer than Cotto and Arum).

Pacquiao has refused to even acquiesce to a Cotto-type deal (free agent, but working with Top Rank fight-by-fight) and Michael Koncz, Pacquiao's adviser, seems to have far more loyalty to Bob Arum than he does to Pacquiao.

I think the person who wrote this make this crap up. He has no legitimate source. It is just speculation.

However, I have been saying since the Maidana fight that Cotto could be next for Floyd. I think it could actually happen, especially if Arum continues to turn down offers to put Pac in the ring with Floyd, which seems to be the case. If this deal is made, it will s....t on a lot of people's parade, especially ODLH.

he ran out of gas in the Floyd fight because that was an actual fight. cotto was getting hit in the fight. cotto wasn't getting hit in the Martinez fight.

it was an actual fight true. However that fact of getting hit in itself doesn't tire. Only body punches takes away steam. May wasn't going to cottos body. What tired cotto was his punch count and going after may in a big ring. Cotto threw similar amount of punches in Martinez fight(little less I think). But I do agree he did work harder in may fight nonetheless.

I went to both of those fights and the weight ins. Cotto looked vastly different for Martinez. Ripped and muscular. EVen with Martinez towering over cotto I knew Martinez was in for some hell. However I didn't expect the whippin he received to be honest. Cotto was flabby and less muscular with only a 1-2 pound weight difference. Well see.

Canelo-Cotto is the better fight, Mayweather-Cotto is the bigger fight. May-Cotto could potentially have 5 titles on the line: Floyd's 154 Ring, WBC, WBA and Cotto's 160 Ring, WBC titles. Floyd wasn't too happy of doing against Maidana but we'll see if Cotto asks for that in negotiations. He has leverage because if Floyd declines and Cotto decides to say 'Okay **** off, going with Canelo then' Floyd would have to go with Khan/Dev or do the impossible a d have Haymon work with Arum for the Pac fight.

On the other hand, I prefer Canelo-Cotto anyway.

That's very appealing. Plus a nice 10-15M Purse + 20-30% PPV/Gate could be a nice day for Miguel....and If Cotto wins....holy ***! It will set up a triology and the biggest ever purse for King Cotto!

Sometimes I feel for these two fighters, TBE and Pacquiao. They're clearly out of their primes, yet fans continue to demand the most dangerous fights for them.

And here are these prime young fighters fighting laundromat workers after another. Thurman is fighting a nobody again. No one is raising a voice.

It doesn't have to be @ 160. Cotto weighed in at 155 vs SM. They can agree to a CW, easily, and have Floyd's 154 titles on the line, with permission. I can see a CW of like 155-157 and Floyd coming in @ 150. Cotto may have a 160 title, but he is not MW.

In order to have the 154 titles on the line as well as the 160 titles they would both have to weigh in at 154
