But I didn't ask you if you could see Cotto beating GGG, I asked you if you were picking Cotto. The fact even you couldn't say you were tells me all I need to know.

You're not alone, hardly anyone would pick Cotto which only serves to highlight the flaw in placing undue weight on the archaic lineal system, it doesn't reflect reality of who is the best in the MW division or indeed in a multitude of other divisions.

That's cool and good news. Along the same lines there is another article where they state that nothing is concrete and they are open to other options:

Man, I was hoping the Texas rumors weren't true, but Peñagarícano seems like a pretty reliable source. I hope Cotto gets payed well for getting dragged to that ****ty craphole.

Freddy said if he was training Cotto he would have won so I would love to see how the game plan would go. They will for sure take this fight if an offer is made because beating Floyd would solidify Cotto as an ATG and Freddy would love nothing more than to beat Floyd and shut him up.

as soon as Floyd beats cotto 116-112 again. the first question out of jim gray's mouth is gonna be is pacquiao next?

if floyd never fights cotto again. nobody will care.

if floyd doesn't fight pacquiao, he will be questioned and trolled til the day he dies.

casual and hardcore fans want the two best fighters of the era too fight.
                mayweather vs pacquiao.

pacquiao already kicked cotto's ass anyway. why does cotto get the fight instead
your whole argument is false..it's based on your own distorted view of boxing being a floyd vs pac fight.. let me clarify something for you...floyd has lineal titles in 4 weight classes and 5 wbc titles ( most in history).

floyd had a legacy before pac came on the scene in 2008. floyd's legacy is to retire undefeated winning 6 titles (5 lineal) in 6 weight classes the first fighter to win titles from 130-160 undefeated against legit champions at the weight. that carries far more wight than a pac fight since pac has no legacy at 147-154 or 160.

pac is not competing against the best right now cotto is so floyd should jump on this chance to solidify his legacy with a fight against cotto who is also a legit 4 weight world champion himself.

the pac hype train is over..pac is fighting rios, algeri, and vargas he is finished as a fighter at the weight classes floyd competes at.

Definitely. He's not the fighter he used to be but he's still a big draw. I rather see cotto/canelo. That fights been brewing for a while. If they don't fight in May the tea will get cold. Get a decent undercard (or don't, most people will tune in anyways) & take my 70 dollars.

So you think Mexicans are going to buy a PPV with Canelo over Floyd/Cotto 2 because GGG has a Mexican style? So does Cotto he's just as entertaining as GGG is and he actually speaks spanish and is a DRAW. I like GGG as much as the next guy but you must be on crack thinking him with Canelo get more buys than Floyd/Cotto.

I'm sure they don't, but that fat check he brings will be bigger than what Canelo, HBO, TR, or Golden Boy can offer. Cotto/Canelo is maybe... 1 million buys, it's close and think it can reach it. But Floyd/Cotto 2 would do just as much as the first fight did at 1.5 million there's too much draw power from Floyd to match anything he offers. Besides, he could offer the same amount of money and Cotto would still take Floyd. Another loss, as long as he looks good really doesn't hurt his image, a loss to Canelo would. It's like the Sergio Martinez fight when Cotto picked him, he got less money but went for legacy, to some guys that matters just as much as the money. Canelo is young, that fight will be available for some time.
