Surely he could go to Germany? Abraham looks there for the taking based on the Smith fight.

My money is on GGG. One thing you are forgetting is that the other side has to agree to the fight. People are stating correctly that fighting BHop now is a lose-lose proposition. But not for GGG who wanted Hopkins for a long time. GGG wants to stay active, and Cotto-Canelo winner fight is not close (if at all happening). After Murray he basically runs out of challenges at middleweight. He will be fighting for a chance to KO Hopkins and go into history books. GGG is also unlikely to adopt the cautious style Kovalev used. AND GGG is a bigger fan attraction than Kovalev was prior to the Hopkins fight.

So this fight is a no brainer. And it will be easier to make than any other fight. Wouldn't be surprised if Oscar is already on the phone to Loeffler.

well whoever he fights he will be a tough prospect for anybody. If he goes to 168 I could see GGG being up for it ... not sure if froch would want it as it's a bit lose, lose though it would be a big fight in the UK

I wouldn't fight him if I was Froch, there's nothing to gain. If Froch wins, then he was expected to, if he loses, he's just lost to a 50yr old man.

He's for sure going after Jermaine Taylor. 100% guaranteed.

Jermaine Taylor IS the guy who put an end to hopkins' 10year middleweight reign...but i hope its not him.

If it's GGG, and he fights less cautiously than Kovalev did, hopkins has a chance to do what he probably wanted to do against Kovalev....but also a good chance at getting knocked out for the first time in his last professional bout.

That's true. I'm also remembering statements Froch has made about what a "horrible" and frustrating opponent Andre Ward was, because of all the spoiling, clinching and head-butting.
Something tells me he wouldn't be too thrilled with BHop either. Lol.
Froch has said he wants to out on a high, earning big money against an opponent who will give him the kind of fight both he and his fans enjoy. That doesn't sound like BHop to me.

Exactly, people wouldn't give any credit to Carl if he beat up BHop. You'd get the usual crowd claiming that Kovalev took his soul, that he's shot, that he's an old man etc.

It wouldn't be a particular good payday either. No doubt it would be PPV over here, but the Chavez fight is PPV on both sides of the Atlantic.

Plus, it would be a horrible, rubbish fight, and like you say, Froch & Hearn would know it. Hopkins has his name, nothing else, no belts etc.
