Floyd Mayweather Jr dares Cotto and Canelo to fight on the same date

Here's the deal. Mayweather can fight any weekend he wants. But if Canelo/Cotto get signed for Cinco, there is no way Mayweather, his business advisors, Showtime, and a newly formed promotional teams is going to be THAT ****** to put on his fight against anyone on the same weekend! EVEN if Mayweather vs X could do better numbers than Canelo/Cotto (and that is a huge assumption), there is no way team Mayweather and Showtime is going to accept losing tons of money just because Floyd is in an ego-inflating power-struggle to keep that date. Not happening, period! If Canelo/Cotto gets signed for that date, I would be more than happy to bet anyone 5 Grand that Floyd does not contend with that date. No one in business, certainly not a powerful team like Mayweather has is going to risk millions just so Floyd can say he got to kick someone else out of his sand box.
Floyd would never risk that kind of money loss. As a gambler, even if he was legally allowed to bet a huge portion of his purse on sports, there is no way he ever would. He would never risk that kind of money and in this case, no one on his team would risk their money going against a huge fight when ALL he would have to do is fight the weekend before or after. He knows when to holdem' and when to foldem' and he would fold long before competing with a big fight on Cinco.Last edited by richardt; 10-15-2014, 10:39 PM.

If Canelo fought in New York, there will be a lot of Mexicans in the venue if it's against anyone not named Cotto. But if he goes against Cotto, those Mexicans won't be able to get tickets, and they will be outnumbered significantly.
Good luck on negotiating this fight.

he'll need a very big name, perhaps THE big name to out do cotto v canelo and if Canelo fights Cotto in may and gets the win and then fights GGG in september both of his fights would potentially out sell floyd without that big name being involved.

Hispanic refers to language. Hispanic if you and/or your ancestry come from a country where they speak Spanish. The term "Hispanic" comes from a Latin word for Spain "Hispania", which later became "España".
Latino refers to geography. Specifically, to Latin America. The government adopted these terms because they did not have an inclusive term to identify and segregate the mixed white with black and native "mestizo or mulato people of Central and South America. “Latino” is principally used west of the Mississippi, where it has displaced “Chicano” and “Mexican American.”

The difference is Cotto/Canelo wouldn't need to do huge numbers to be successful, although with HBO pushing the fight it will be huge.
The question is will Showtime be ****** enough to guarantee Floyd 30 million+ to fight anyone not named Pacquiao knowing the biggest Mexican draw and 3rd biggest PPV draw are fighting the same night on cinco de drinko.
