This is a really good point that most haven't thought of... Obviously, Roach will always be most loyal to Pac...but Cotto is his second biggest fighter and he wouldn't leave him for one of his biggest fights of his career...

Also, even if Floyd-Pac gets signed... why potentionally lose viewers(buys) by putting the fight on the same night as Cotto-Canelo... doesn't make sense...

Which means... that Floyd simply won't fight on that night IF cotto-canelo happens... even IF he agrees to fight manny...

IF he's all about making his next fight a huge event(i.e. tries to one-up himself and his past fights) then he doesn't fight on the same date as cotto-canelo...But maybe he could fight on the same date with a sort of throw-away fight just for spite(i.e. not manny)...but since he only has a couple of fights left... he will probably only want the "big" event type fights....

And if he fights danny garcia... all respect goes out the flippin' window..

I think its pretty clear that if Floyd/Pac were to actually get made then Cotto/Canelo would move to a different date. That is the only fight that would make them move though and Roach wouldn't have this issue.

Don't you think Amirs hated either, dude gets fu.cking blew up for breathing most times.Dude, those Argies are crazy, tell me when Maidana fights again if Danny Garcia has got more fans than him.

Canelo vs Cotto would get everyone else.

The Casuals represent a large part of the PPV Buys.
Mayweathers fans consist of his uncle Roger,Jeff. His Dad and that dumb cousin of his who only has three letters to his vocabulary...TBE.

Everyone is assuming the fight will take place on Cinco De Mayo. Wait til they sit down with Team Cotto. Cotto is going to give a lot of people a rude awakening.

          • If May fights anyone other than Pac then he doesn't have a shot at outselling the Canelo/Cotto fight. There is a reason why Floyd keeps fighting on Mexican holidays, whether they be legit or American made. The Latin community makes up a huge part of boxing fans.

The Latin community WILL NOT turn their head on Canelo/Cotto. That's insane. Floyd really wants to play that game. He will lose. He's still going to make his money either way though.

What Cotto may want and what makes more financial sense are 2 different things. Sure Cotto may want to fight on the eve of the P.R day parade, but both fighters would lose money.

Fighting in LV generates more money for everyone. The tax structure in NY alone would strip a few mil off each fighters purse.

But the NY venues (Barclays and Garden) can offset the tax structure with their bids. The Barclay's particularly have done this already, even with their bids for Mayweather vs. Maidana 1 and 2.

Cotto is unlikely to agree to fight in a Mexican heavy venue ON A MEXICAN HOLIDAY, and Canelo will be reluctant to agree to fight in a Puerto Rican heavy venue. This fight is going to be quite challenging to negotiate. Like I said, a lot of you are in for a rude awakening when Cotto sets everyone straight.

                • Aren't we more likely to get Mayweather-Cotto2? Don't you think Roach will push for this since PAC ain't getting a shot.

I'm a big Cotto fan and will be rooting for him if this fight were to materialize, but he can be quite a diva at the negotiating table. There's reasonable demands then there's diva-ish demands. When it came to negotiating with Martinez, Cotto listed each and every one of his demands and stated that if Martinez didnt oblige to each there would be no fight!

I'm not holding my breath on this ever happening. I can see Canelo negotiating in good faith. I dont see Cotto doing the same.

Exactly! Team Cotto already blasted a warning shot about how Canelo is NOT going to dictate the terms. Everyone is doing a lot of assuming about Vegas, Cinco De Mayo, etc. But they will soon find out reality when Cotto comes to the table and says Miguel Cotto is the A-SIDE. Going to be a difficult fight to negotiate.
