Just to give folks some scope, $25m at the gate would mean that, on PPV, the fight would be sold for $100 per home and 3.5m homes would have to buy the fight, a near full million homes more, at basically double the price, than the most bought fight in the history of the sport.
And even with that, it'd still be under.
Pacquiao gets $40m on the front-end, and Mayweather make $60m+ on the back-end. Even at those numbers, you're looking at a $200m revenue fight, which is just short of the prior revenue record. lol

The Puerto Ricans who were in Vegas to support Cotto vs Pacquiao reminded me a lot of the sheer volume of Brits who took over Vegas when Hatton fought Mayweather
If Canelo fought in New York, there will be a lot of Mexicans in the venue if it's against anyone not named Cotto. But if he goes against Cotto, those Mexicans won't be able to get tickets, and they will be outnumbered significantly.
Good luck on negotiating this fight.

Vegas = Canelo, New York = Cotto. Canelo has a better chance at getting a gift no matter the venue I believe. But in New York, Cotto will at least have home court advantage with the crowd behind him. He will enter the ring as the man to beat.
If Cotto fights in Vegas, he'll enter the ring like he's the challenger. Cotto will be fighting HARD to bring the fight to New York. You watch.
This fight is going to be hell to negotiate. Ask Martinez how easy Cotto was at the table.

Canelo vs Cotto would get everyone else.
The Casuals represent a large part of the PPV Buys.

On the East Coast, especially in like New York City, it's the Puerto Rican population that outnumbers the Mexican population by FAAAAAAAR.

Cool thing about the Cotto and Hatton fans, they were by far the most fun fans to be with at a huge fight. They both come out in massive numbers and both fan bases bring all of these instruments and drums and sing all of these songs that they all seem to know.
