Say what you want about Algieri, he isnt exactly tailor made. He's kind of hard to hit due to the height disparity as well.

I dont expect the fight to be entertaining at all, which is the biggest issue with this fight, other than the name involved (which most of you seem to be wrongly *****ing about)

Boxing is of course a sport where obscure guys need to be given chances so I see nothing wrong in Algieri getting a shot, on principle. The problem is the entertainment value.

Abregu's win over Dulorme is officially the most overrated win by a fighter right now. You can't mention Abregu without bringing up Dulorme. As if Dulorme is some world class talent.

Dulorme was a prospect at the time. Still is a prospect.

Not to mention the last time Abregu stepped up in competition was to Bradley and he lost every single round in that fight and almost got dropped.

Algieri is the superior boxer of the two. You don't need to look any further than Abregu's last fight. I understand he was coming off a year long lay-off but he went up against some low ranked opponent and got dropped twice. One of the knockdowns was ruled a slip. The 2nd knockdown he got dropped really hard. He managed to get by off his power alone (which is the only thing he has) and he stopped Prada.

Otherwise he looked very unimpressive. He's a guy that's more tailor made for Pacquiao than Algieri.

              - undefeated
              - young and prime
              - coming off big win against provodnikov (people didn't mind pac vs provo before)
              - tall and rangy pure boxer (has a 5" height advantage)
              - good movement and jab
              - good ring IQ
              - good heart (was knocked down hard and had his eye swollen shut against provo but still managed to pull off the win)
              - is very hungry and has the desire to win and be on top
              - very likable/magnetic personality
              - american rocky story hero
              - eloquent speaker
              - properly groomed
              - very humble and down to earth
              - ladies love him

              also consider that

              - pac is way past his prime
              - was knocked out cold not too long ago
              - doesn't have the same aggression and pressure he had in his prime (only way to beat algieri is by pressuring him non stop)
              - pac is slower

i dare anyone to refute these 100% true facts.
Hype is a sales pitch designed for people just like you .

pacquiao wanted to cherrypick THE BEST EVA, and pacquiao is desperate, according to money mayweather. fraud, after all these years, still scared of pacquiao.

that's why these cherry picking nonsensical threads won't make any sense. not in a million years. unless they're supplemented with "stop ducking floyd."

Lol what a dumba$$. All those guys but Mosley were way better and would be widely favored over most of the top 10 since, the likes of Guerrero, Ortiz, Maidana etc. And this was in Pac's 7 division. 2 years before Clottey he fought JMM at 130, would have been unthinkable he'd whoop the top welters in short order.
