Soft touch fight. Waste of my time atleast. Let's suppose by some miracle Algieri pulls off some pitter patter points victory, then what? We have the next boxer who just wants to sc**** by slapping boxers to death to wins?

No thanks. I'll stick with my fighters that fight for a higher purpose.

Everybody knows it's a ****ty fight. I'm still not sure why Pacquiao is doing this. A win means nothing, a loss will destroy him and either way it's going to flop sales-wise.

        algieri isn't a cherry pick.

        - ranked #3 best jr welterweight
        - WBO world champion
        - undefeated
        - young and prime
        - coming off big win against provodnikov (people didn't mind pac vs provo before)
        - tall and rangy pure boxer (has a 5" height advantage)
        - good movement and jab
        - good ring IQ
        - good heart (was knocked down hard and had his eye swollen shut against provo but still managed to pull off the win)
        - is very hungry and has the desire to win and be on top
        - very likable/magnetic personality
        - american rocky story hero
        - eloquent speaker
        - properly groomed
        - very humble and down to earth
        - ladies love him

        also consider that

        - pac is way past his prime
        - was knocked out cold not too long ago
        - doesn't have the same aggression and pressure he had in his prime (only way to beat algieri is by pressuring him non stop)
        - pac is slower

i dare anyone to refute these 100% true facts.

I think most of the guys he beat had .500 records outside of Ruslan and Taylor. Which is also another 100% fact.

Yeah, seems a dissapointing opponent choice. However Algieri won a title, so is getting a shot at Pac. Same as when Baldomir beat Judah, won a title. Mayweather fought him, whats the difference? Some people actually give Algieri a shot.

Judah was ranked considerably higher than Provodnikov was, pound for pound. Plus...they were actually fighting in the same division.

so what? he has proven himself hasn't he? guys like pac and mayweather didn't start off with huge wins right out of the gate either.

fact is algieri is on top right now and is hungry to stay there.

why do people keep looking at a fighter's past?
