We should all just agree that on paper it's a mismatch based on resumes.. until Floyd and Manny actually fight each other, every opponent they fight won't be good enough to the other fanbase. Even if Manny or Floyd beat the cap out of someone like Thurman the other side would say he was a bum and never beat anyone anyway.
It's a lose lose for both guys..it's the crazy fanbase that make a big deal out of things. The casual "fan" of both will just order the fight regardless of who it's against to watch their favorite guy. I haven't missed a Manny or floyd PPV in 10 years and I'll continue to be one of the "suckers" who enjoys both guys no matter what.
It's time for them to fight in May though. Both sides numbers are dwindling and they need it at this point.

I didn't say that the fight was a mismatch. It's just that Algieri didn't earn the fight. He's just benefiting from the limited circumstance of Top Rank. And the catchweight is there because anyone with eyes can see that Algieri has the physical advantage over Pacquaio. But physical advantage doesn't mean he'll lose.

Otherwise, Roach would've just chose 147 lbs.

I have seen so many better dudes than Algeri get absolutely clowned and that fight he won was about as 50/50 as it gets.

I suppose he could make Manny look bad especially if he plays spoiler but I am pretty sure he is not winning that way.

I don;t een think Algeri really has what it takes to make Manny look bad because I don't think he has a defensive mindset and against Provodnikov he fought when he got into trouble he didn't really run so that right there tells me what his first response will be when he gets hit will will lead to bad things for him. After that he may be on his bike but that would be survival not a winning plan.
