I don't even particularly agree with the rule. Common sense says the fight should have gone on. But it's the rules. A 10 count is a 10 count and the ref shouldn't be blamed for following the rules.
He should be blamed because he the guy was up before 10, so he shouldnt have been waving or saying 10

I mean he is up before his wave or his diez.

Im pretty sure on his legs means standing up. Not slumped over TRYING to get up. You're failing miserably here.

It says come to the scratch and on his legs. Is that not clear enough to you?

i agree too, i didn't like the stoppage being honest, ortiz speculated too much with the time, there was a few seconds left in the round and he would have probably made it out, one second too late.

Because those are the only written rules used as a reference when it comes to the sport and they are universally recognized. If you know of any others please let us know.

It clear you want to continue the debate, so its pointless for me to respond since other posters have explained why we think you are incorrect.

And a downed boxer is one who's any part of his body by the bottom of his feet at touching the canvas.

So im guessing lopez is not on his legs since he is slumped over

The first rule is" To be a fair stand-up boxing match in a 24-foot ring, or as near that size as practicable. "

They fought in 16 foot ring yesterday. These rules are from 1865 and are simply the first rules of modern boxing, not the the exact rules used

Your argument is on it's last legs.
