Ortiz did not beat the count

The video will not let me embed but watch this and watch the shotime clock.
His knee touches down at 30, he gets to his feet with 17 left on the clock. That is 13 seconds by my watch.

He didn't beat the referees slow count either. He moved towards Ortiz at 9 and he didn't even begin to rise until after he'd said 9

The guy lost, he didn't beat the count and was saved from a blatant hellacious beatdown.

He was down for 13 seconds & didn't beat the 10 count! He was still on his way up when out was called.

    People can't count to 10.

He was counted out in the act of rising.

In my books he didn't even try to beat the count. You don't start to get up at 9. He didn't want it and you can see it on his face.

there's a difference between counting to 10 and interpreting the 10 count in a sport called boxing. that's pretty obvious, but since you want to win the argument you keep on pretending its about people not being able to count to 10.

nice try doe. can you again show me any evidence of your interpretation of the 10 count?

btw, he was up before 10.

he was. but some people think its about being able to count to 10 not the interpretation of the 10 count.

I hate to defend Ortiz because he was awful and would have been brutally beaten anyway but you guys are wrong here.

First, it doesn't matter how many real time seconds have passed. It goes by the referees count which Ortiz did beat.

Second, just take a look at the boxing rules. It only states that a fighter must be on his feet before the count of 10. Ortiz was on his feet before the count of ten. His knee was no longer on the canvas when Benjy said ten. This isn't hard to get.

He was not up before the count of 10 he was still slumped on his way to getting up

                Freeze frame the count.

He did not even start getting up until 9.5/9.6

Watch 2.46 he did not beat the referees count.

                8, 9, OUT!

There is no 10 then out.

The refs count is consistent....perhaps even slow. He waves his arms (signifiying 10 and out) as Ortiz is rising.

Counted out in the act of rising. He wasn't up.
