Because Ustinov doesn't fight anything like Wlad nor have one iota of the skill or athletic ability. He's just big. That's it. What exactly is Fury supposed to learn from that fight that he couldn't learn by sparring other big men?

Fighting big guys regardless of their skill or technical ability in order to prepare for Wlad is one of the biggest mistakes opponents make. How many big guys did Jennings fight before taking on Wlad? None. How many did Pulev fight? Three. Now who did better in their respective fights?

Pulev stopped two previously unstopped opponents, in what were considered shut outs,meh stopped Ustinov with the jab alone, in an impressive schooling of a far taller opponent same with Dimitrenko. Pulev has fought at a higher level, that is not contestable, unless you're a British fan boy intend on winning the ****** of the Year award, where are you Andrew ?

I totally agree. ustinov fights like hes stuck in mud and throws punches in slo motion. it would do fury no good at all. even tho guys like parker arent as tall hes got some zip on his punches and thats more important than just size

Ustinov has an extremely powerful left hook as the champion does, if Fury walked into one of those he'd be asleep. Other than that Ustinov really hasn't much going for him bar size, like Fury I suppose.

Who is Fury sparring? Anyone know?

He was claiming he was getting 15 rounds of tough sparring from Marcin Rekowski, I'm not sure if that was a tongue in cheek statement but this was all in the week of the batman presser when he was claiming he was ready to fight that night or weekend whatever he was saying, I kind of struggled to contain my laughter when I detected he was in fact being serious.

Browne is a fat talentless bum with nothing but a big right hand. Ortiz, despite being a cheat, is a talented boxer who would give any HW a tough night imo.

And yet Fury had to rely on cheating to defeat his career best opponent, the feather fisted career cruiser who incidentally had such a minimal impact at heavy he has decided 200+ is not for him.

So combat the argument, if you can. Fury fans on this thread are posting solid analysis, mongs like yourself just pop in & talk about Fury fans.

What solid analysis have you offered bar clearly biased opinions of your favourite fighter. No body cares about Fury fans, we just find it funny you guys will go to great lengths to tell us how Fury is going to defeat the champion. But it makes for all the more fun after the fight.

how exactly would it be useless? fighting someone who is not a small heavyweight would be incredibly usefull.
As opposed to fighting mostly journeymen who are 6'2 being useful measuring sticks?

Cunningham has a better punch than Povatkin. Povatkin fights a lot like his Eastern European fellow countrymen, a style I would characterize as somewhat mobile, an emphasis on activity, with very little head movement... yes Povatkin can **** a little better than most of these other fellows, BUT Cunningham is a puncher and punches a lot harder than Povatkin.

Thats not to say it wouldn't be a decent scrap Fury against Povatkin. But the notion that Povatkin is a big puncher is rubbish... at least compared to Cunningham, who had some of the best chins in boxing on the ropes.

How is he an oaf? He's uneducated but intelligent, watch some of his IFL interviews and you'll see. People claim that he's clumsy, but again i don't see it. I've never seen a man as big as him be as nimble on their feet.

It depends on what you class as boring. Fury can't win, he if brawls then he's called a talentless bum. If he uses his size and jab, he gets called boring.

Personally i found the masterclass he put on Chisora/Hammer entertaining, because i enjoy watching technical boxing. Each unto their own though i suppose.

Here's an interesting interview with Fury. He talks about his family's bare-knuckle fighting history - both sides of the family- religion, especially Islam - it was filmed during Ramadam - and the prejudice he has experienced throughout his life because of his gypsy heritage.

I defy anybody to watch and listen to this video and still call Fury an ignorant, unintelligent oaf.
