Good thread, a lot is said about his resume after coming back from his retirement but when it's broken down it's quite the resume. He's fought nothing but champions in or above his weight class, and all those coming off of a tremendous win.

          Let me provide some perspective.
Lebron James is a great basketball player, the best in the world. But he is also a guy that has said he wants to be the best ever, on the Mt. Rushmore and that we will have to move a Magic or Russell off to put him on. With those expectations he has put on himself he has not lived up to them. 2-3 in finals and choked against Orlando and Boston. So yes he is a great player but not what he has said he wanted to be.
Floyd has been calling himself"TBE" lately. He has said he is better than Ali, Frazier, and all the other greats. So with that in mind looking at his resume are we going to say its TBE resume? Are we going to look back and say "wow, he beat Victor Ortiz, Robert Guerrero, Zab Judah and Marcos Maidana! That's incredible? No. More likely we are going to have to go back and remind ourselves who some of these guys were. So in a vacuum, yes Floyd has beaten guys that held belts at the time. But if your comparing his resume to the best of all time, as he himself has said we should, does it stack up? Not in my opinion. Even in his own generation I would put ODL and Pacquiao resume over Floyds easily, much less the other all time greats..

Yes it is but Floyd's always tried to convince he doesn't need to fight him while Pacquiao and roach have always said they want the fight.

They've said that, I'm not entirely sure how truthful they have always been.

Since Pacquaio got knocked out they've wanted it though definitely that's for sure.

Cotto would be a good win at 154 for literally anyone in the world other than people that have beat him already.
I said the day the fight was signed that there was a good chance Martinez would be shot. It was the reason I was interested in the outcome. He'd spent 2 years battling injuries and arguably lost his previous fight. There's no way I'd call the Sergio we saw against Cotto anything other than shot.

Since his return in 2009 it's been excellent and even the Marquez win remains underrated. It's been a pleasant surprise, especially given how disappointing his 2007 send-off was. Mayweather is arguably the greatest fighter of his era.

It ignore the fact one was weight drained like a zombie, so much he failed to make 154 in his next two fights - second fight pending at 155

Ignore all of that bad you can live in your delusional Floyd Lola land

He has a piss poor resume and will be remembered for that
You apparently are also ignoring the fact that four of those d level guys also fought Manny Pacquaio. Three of them fought Pac after fighting Mayweather and one KTFO of Pacquaio after losing to Mayweather.
