    A look into Floyd's last 9 opponents

A lot of criticism has fallen on Floyd for his choice of opponents since moving up to 147 - so lets analyse his last 9 opponents.

Only 3 of them had been stopped before he fought them (Cotto, Ortiz and De La Hoya).

Moved up another weight class to fight 3 of them.

2 were undefeated at the time he fought them.

Mosley came off a KO win of Margarito. Ortiz had 5 wins and 1 draw post Maidana plus a FOTY with Berto just before Mayweather. Alvarez was tipped by many to crush Mayweather. Maidana had 4 strong wins (3 by KO and a battering of Broner). Guerrero was a mandatory. Cotto had 3 good wins including revenge over Margarito post Pacquiao loss.

Marquez win is tarnished due to the weight advantage Mayweather had.

Tough fight with Maidana and appears to be giving an immediate rematch - credit or discredit?

Apart from Pacquaio (ideally after the Mosley win) what/who is missing from his resume?

I would say he deserves credit for all his wins,it's not easy to train and get up for every fight..Mayweather does this time and time again..I would only say this..A lot of times there were better more challenging opponents and he did not take them..Martinez Lara and Pac(for Pac that street goes both ways),that's the only thing I'll say about it..

The main criticism should be that he "retired" after moving into a loaded welter division with Undefeated Cotto. Margarito who was a beast. Williams who nobody wanted to fight because of his unreal size, reach and workrate. Manny of course coming off battering Oscar and Cotto..mosely was much fresher of course then as well. Lots of mega fights he could have made but instead he disappeared for almost 2 years. Then came back and fought a 130 lb fighter if I recall correctly.
I think Williams and Manny would have given him all he could handle back then.

            Yup

Ignore the fact most were d level guys who will never be close to the hof

Or ignore the fact some we part time boxers and coming off a huge key off

It ignore the fact one was weight drained like a zombie, so much he failed to make 154 in his next two fights - second fight pending at 155

Ignore all of that bad you can live in your delusional Floyd Lola land

He has a piss poor resume and will be remembered for that

And then he returned to fight Marquez who was cheated on the scales and blown up, old(er) Mosley, no-heart Ortiz, Pacquiao-leftovers Cotto, B-fighter Guerrero, inexperienced no-gas Canelo, and (what everyone thought was hopeless) Maidana.

Even though revisionist history says things like "Canelo was supposed to beat him because of size!", the polls on Boxingscene still had Mayweather as a heavy favorite. Everyone knows that Mayweather has been the heavy favorite in all of his fights since he's returned from his retirement. Pacquiao has a barren Top Rank roster, but still has managed to fight Marquez (his toughest opponent) twice in that time.

Mayweather just needs to go ahead and decision Pacquiao already instead of being a diva. Everyone knows his style would win that fight easily at this point.

Aside from fighting Cotto in 2012 as opposed to 2008 and his cowardly ducking of Pacquiao, I have no complaints with who Floyd has fought
