Fighters who are hereby considered non Ring champs at their respective weight classes. Rules were modified as of Saturday, June 7th, 2014 to discredit Miguel Cotto's accomplishments. The rule is, if you didn't stay at the weight class, to fight all other fighters at the weight, you are not considered Ring champ at the weight class.

Sugar Ray Leonard: Marvin Hagler win at 160 which made him Ring champ at the weight, is now revoked from history. Reason: Leonard never fought at 160 before or after the win.

Sugar Ray Leonard: Ayub Kalule win that won him The Ring title at Jr Middleweight has now been eliminated from history. The win is now a "regular" win, and SRL is not considered a Ring champ at 154. Reason: Only fight at 154, didn't fight all other fighters.

Manny Pacquiao: His win over Ricky Hatton, where he won the Ring/Lineal title now does not count. Pacquiao ducked all other Jr Welters before and after the win and never returned to fight "all other fighters".

Floyd Mayweather Jr: Wins at 135 and 154 which made him Ring champ, no longer count. At 135, he fought Castillo twice, but after that he only fought 3 more times at the weight and didn't fight all other fighters. At 154, Floyd beat Cotto to establish himself as a top 3 JMW, and then beat Canelo to win The Ring title. This is no longer the case, he did not win The Ring title at 154 because he didn't stay to beat all fighters.

And so on, and so forth...

Sometimes they even think that fighter should move up to the next division up. It's like when Whitaker beat Vasquez for the Jr MW title and expecting him to then move up to 160 and fight Hopkins.

Anyway, Cotto is the Lineal Champion and that's a fact. As crazy as that sounds and he's got to be one of, if not the weakest of all time.
      Graziano? Turpin? Pender? Downes? Corro?

Yeah could argue all of those too

But Cotto's got to be up there.

Not because he's a bad fighter of course because obviously he's not he's very good but considering where he's at in his career and size.

Exactly. You can't change the rules of boxing just because you want your favorite fighter to be the lineal champ. Cotto beat the guy that beat the guy so the title is rightfully his.

I think you are selling Cotto short, even if he is both small and light at the weight. It may not be the greatest bunch of middleweights right now but I fancy he could take them all looking like he did against Martinez, except Golovkin that is.

The way that fans modify boxing rules today to their liking, not knowing that past greats did the same exact thing, is priceless.

I thought Cotto was going to lose even against a not 100%, old Martinez, he gets my props for winning. I just didn't see it, I didn't see how Cotto would win but he did it. He is The Ring/WBC MW champ and he did it against some one better than(Had to Boxrec his name) Nilson Julio Tapia and I am damn sure Miguel Cotto destroys the dangerous line up of "Murder" Macklin, "Slammin" Stevens, "Samurai" Ishida, "Rowdy Roddy" Rosado, and "The Amazing" Adama to "legitimize" himself.
