How is Mayweather beating GGG a better win than beating Cotto at MW?

I know they say you shouldn't feed the troll, but dude come on!

At middleweight if Floyd somehow found his testicles and fought GGG, would you honestly bet on Floyd to come out victorious? A prime floyd doesn't beat GGG much, and the current Mayweather that got pushed around like a ragdoll by Maidana sure as hell doesn't.

Cotto beating the ghost of Martinez is not the same as Floyd beating GGG. I honestly don't give a damn about lineal titles, they mean nothing. Mosley was lineal when Floyd fought him and from there on Mosley had absolutely no meaningful victories and I guarantee Martinez won't either. It's not about lineal titles, it's about fighting the best opponent available.

That's not a fact, that's an opinion. For all we know, Cotto may be able to beat GGG. And GGG's resume doesn't exactly show that he is all that good. No matter how many votes he gets on polls vs Froch and Kessler and every one else he could beat, the truth is he hasn't even beaten anyone of even Cotto's level. Beating Cotto would make it the best win of his career, a former 140 pounder would be the best win of his career. But nevermind that, he could beat Froch, Kessler, Bika, Groves with ease, but hasn't even beaten anything past a B level fighter at his own weight class, and let's face it, there are no "legit MW" fighters past the B level at 160. You know because Cotto is not a legit MW champ, so even though he is an A- level fighter, it wouldn't count cause he is not legit.

He has a good shot at today's MW's but today's MW's have Sam Soliman and Matthew Macklin as top contenders and Champions.

Historically I'd say he's obviously one of the weaker champions.

He's old enough to do what Martinez did when he wasn't getting the respect he thought he deserved, he went up in class and took it. Glovkin and his fans act like fighters should come to him, but it's not happening so until he's ready to go out there and do what most people think he won't do, he's going to remain where he at.
So Hagler isnt great because he only fought at MW accordng to you.

So because Leonard wasn't planning on staying at 160 or beating "all" the fighters at MW, him beating the 4-1 favorite Ring champ Marvin Hagler at 160 doesn't make him the 160 Lineal champ?(controversial decision aside)

I would like to read this book of yours.
Why do you think I'd view Leonard as an exception? Factually he is the Lineal Champion but it is not something I place a lot of value in; sue me. The term paper champion is thrown around all of the time, yet it becomes an issue when I decide to view certain Lineal champions as such?

I dislike Martinez and Cotto is one of my favourite active fighters, as is Mayweather. Why someone can't have an opinion on a state of affairs without it being rooted in bias, I do not know.

For me to acknowledge someone as a Lineal Champion; I should perhaps rephrase, for me to acknowledge someone's lineal title as more than an empty shell, they have to actually prove themselves in the division.

Well I think he is probably a lot higher than that, remember a lot of these past lineal champs were closer to his size and weight as they were to some of the slightly larger and heavier modern middleweights.

Forgive if me GGG vs Ouma doesnt convince me he can beat Mayweather. And Maidana threw Floyd around like a rag doll? We mustve seen 2 different fights.

All that dirty shyt got him an L. Floyd can adjust to any style yes even the masterful mystery boxing of GGG. Shocking I know. And Maidana and GGG fight nothing alike.

And you say best opponent availible how is Mayweather not the best opponent availible for Cotto and vice versa. How did GGG somehow sneak his way into that group?

I agree hes a solid champion and there is no middleweight more talented imo. He wont be a pushover at MW in todays era by any stretch of the imagination. Im very interested to see who he fights in December.

They are both excellent wins at 160 actually. Not much to choose between them
