It balances all the excuses created for Martinez.

Cotto beat the tar out of a gimp Martinez. MARTINEZ DID NOT I REPEAT DID NOT INJURE HIS KNEE IN THE FIGHT but he clearly wasn't 100%.
Martinez knew he wasn't at 100% and just took the fight for the money!

what the hell difference does it make. he was hurt early and never recovered. it was cotto's power that sergio obviously couldnt handle whther his legs were shot or not

The difference is that with healthy knees you can recover and eat punches much easier then it would be with shot knees. boxing 101.

point taken,, but his legs seemed sturdy to me until he got hurt. I just think it was more a matter of not being able to cope with cotto's power. thats not to say serg wasnt past his best which he obviously is at his age but I just think cotto was all wrong for him. im one of the few that actually thought cotto would take him out

I think if Sergio had healthy knees it would of been a really competitive entertaining fight. Cotto was coming up in weight and was a good 5 from the middleweight limit and Sergio was use to fighting in this weight against bigger stronger guys. He's been in wars. Yes, Cotto packs a good punch but to hurt him like that with a check left hook? I believe in the first round and to go stumbling the way he did without being able to throw any punching combinations was all really suspect to me.

I believe Trout was taller then Cotto, where was his torque then? Trout boxed the **** outta him from the outside and neutralized Cottos whole offense. So with your logic Paul Williams should be on the disadvantage from the get because of his 6''5 stature. I hate to break it to you but boxing skills matter more then how short or tall you are, your just bringing another useless point to justify Cottos win. Every major boxing outlet media had Martinez favorite for a reason, so I guess we're all living in a different universe. No1 is hating on Cotto, I just dont think he has really proven much these last 2 years with wins over Delvin Rodriguez and Crippled Sergio as much as Cotto fans make it out to be. Before giving Chavez a boxing lesson he had 4 consecutive knockouts in defending his belt. He was 154 pounder owning middleweights, if you watched his previous fights you could tell that his style is to move and box from the outside making it harder to get knockouts, doesnt necesarrily mean your a bad fighter (Mayweather ring a bell??) we will never how it woulda turned out if Sergio was healthy.
Read my post again, and stop interpreting what i said into something i didnt.

Trout is a defensive fighter, and Martinez is not. The comparison didnt make sense befor and it doesnt make sense now. So no matter how much you wanna insist something was wrong with Martinez' knees, you are wrong. And we have FACTS to back up why you are wrong.
